Another frustrating game, although at least we tried to play some football. Changes too late again, especially Smart. Why must Payne take every free kick and corner?

I said this at the beginning of the season, why do people keep referring to him as a dead ball specialist?! We haven’t scored from a corner for years! I do like Payne don’t get me wrong but I would like to see what tomlinson can do from a corner.

Tomlinson Is quality. I,d also give Smarty a try. On another note, Why are we so slow at getting the ball forward. Yes some lovely triangles today. But come on into added time. We play it along the back. Take smiffy off rather than Bird. Put one of our center backs up front. Launch it/mix it up a bit.Keep um guessing.

Is it me, or have a lot of recent games been rather dull? Playing the ball out from the back as we do is fine and is far better than just hoofing ii up in the air which is understandable when the pitch is bad, but we're just not creating enough chances. Generally speaking, our defence has been very good this season with only 31 goals conceded in 32 games, with 11 clean sheets, but it's on the goals for side that we're lacking. Only 36 in those games. Let's just hope Adam Marriott can add a few when he's fully fit & up to speed with the team and that TB is back to fitness soon.

Totally agree about the recent games being a difficult watch due to the lack of chances being created. We really miss Ty and I am not impressed with the contributions of Hill, Blair and Smith. In view of our difficulties up front, I am disappointed we don’t give more game time to Smart.

Think we need to be patient with the likes of Hill, Blair and Smith. They've come from lower leagues and will take time to develope & improve at this level. Plus it's all about working and combining as a team.

What the hell is the point of getting a new striker in then benchwarming him til ten minutes from the end of the game? We've hardly scored in months so what was Strevs expecting yesterday, an avalanche of goals? 🙄

Agreed, would have stated with Marriott or given him 30 mins at least. Real case of dropped points yesterday

I can understand people feeling that we should not have waited until 18 minutes after Woking reduced to 10 men to make our first substitution, even allowing for the fact that it was effectively a 84th minute substitution that effectively won the game at Maidenhead.
I can also understand that people feel that with Marriott's scoring record and our own scoring record that he should have started. It may however be worth mentioning though that I believe Marriott only joined the club on Friday and probably has not had a chance to train with the players. He also last played for Kings Lynn on 23rd February and being furloughed may not have trained since then.
When we lost at home to Kings Lynn earlier in the season having returned to action after a 18 day break it was suggested that a lack of training time in the 18 day break may have had some bearing on the performance.
However now Marriott has got some game time under his belt I will certainly be surprised if he does not start tomorrow.
