Some of you may have missed that a deal with Europe that might be of passing interest to Spitfires was agreed today. Kyril Louis-Dreyfus: Frenchman to buy Stewart Donald's controlling interest - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55441731

These days it is not totally uncommon for relatively young people to own significant parts of a football club especially as in this case their father or mother has also done so or itends to do so. There are a few other examples of this and I wonder whether Stewart's son will eventually join this list. I am not sure though whether Stewart will still maintain a stake at Sunderland.

I imagine he lost a small fortune in Sunderland not to mention a huge dent to his reputation. I think he may just take a back seat in any future football ventures going forward and doubt he'll be coming back as a messiah for a second coming.

Does anyone know the latest with this? Stewart seems to have spent most of his time on teesside trying to sell the club

I have zero interest in Stewart Donald or any of his dealings. That ship sailed years ago, lets move on.

Would be interested to know what share SD is retaining in Sunderland. IIRC anything over 10% would prohibit him from becoming a major shareholder at another club.

So... Stewart Donald leaves, and soon afterwards Sunderland pick up their first win in a Wembley final since 1973.... Yes, I know it's a coincidence!
