The announcement due at 9.30am this Morning (10th June) appears to have generated great excitement with not a single post to date in anticipation or predicting the big news. I think I have just seen a single social media entry guessing it will be expanding the news regarding new kit supplier.
Come on peeps must be bigger than that. I'm going for us purchasing the MK Don's franchise, moving their ground, lock stock and barrel, via a large number of wide loads (perhaps means Vinnie Jones also thrown in) and having a name change to the Eastleigh Orinocos' with the club championing environmental change. For instance free entry if you pick up a bucket full of litter on route to the ground.

Kenny was on "South Today" a few days ago mentioning cuts to the budget so I'm betting that we've made an application to play in the Isle Of Wight League next season.

Is the big news about Eastleigh FC or The National League? Now that The FL one and two season is decided, The National League has to conclude theirs too. Barrow definately up, with the other being via PO's, relegation needs to be confirmed in National League, but no relegation in North and South Leagues, meaning they run with 22 clubs in each next season, but with six relegated from each next season to restore things back to 24 club leagues. That said, we need to first discover how many clubs will still be in business next season. There are nightmares abound from such scenario's the rules state each club must be certain of completing the season BEFORE they enter, and this could be the issue Eastleigh are facing??? Possibly though its The New Chapter.

"the rules state each club must be certain of completing the season BEFORE they enter"
In the present financial crisis how can any business have such certainty? We have seen estimates that a sizable number of clubs are now on very shaky ground - and not just in the National League structure.

Have to say I'm somewhat underwhelmed by the announcement (in a very professional manner video, it's true) of a new logo! In these times of extreme financial constraint for football clubs, I'd have thought such a thing as changing a logo and all that that potentially entails was a low priority, best left for when finances are a bit healthier. But hell, what do I know about running a football club?

Is it April Fools Day?
The plane on the badge looks like it was designed by Skoda not Supermarine.

Actually, taking a step back from the initial realisation/disappointment that Chapter 3 (after the hype) was only a new logo, I have to say I do like the new design. It's very distinctive & Tony, I'd say it is a faithful reinterpretation of an actual Spitfire. Knowing it's been in gestation for 9mths or so (no baby puns here), the decision was made to go for it before the C-19 crisis and it will fit well with the new kit manufacturer, Kappa. So, well done Kenny, Tom and others. It will look good for years to come.

The only bit that is correct are the wings. The fuselage is awful - not even close.

Awful... why rebrand? Looks nothing like a Spitfire. 9 months of consultation: with whom? I wasn't consulted and I've had a season ticket for 4 years. Please keep the current badge.

The issue was I suppose copyright of using a spitfire on the badge? On another issue I've read this morning that a club will only be relegated from League Two if The National League runs next season, if not, no club will be relegated. Surely The National League cannot just abandon next season, for starters what about all the players who have contracts for next season. That would open a legal minefield, clubs would have to pay them, and if the league shut down the season, then all the clubs could sue the league for damages. Who in their right minds thought it right to consider restarting in 2021/22 season, it just can't happen, sheer madness.

The new badge is open to ridicule because its not a spitfire for a start. Nine months in planning!!!! It ain't a SPITFIRE for cricks sake. If it was a copyright issue then you don't create a mock up one instead to make it look something its not do you? How long before opposing fans sing "That's not a spitfire on your shirt" and it will be sung everywhere believe you me. This town has a direct link in the history of The Spitfire, did somebody say we can't use it due to copyright laws? Did we think it'd be too expensive to get permission? Or maybe we never even bothered to ask the owner of such copyright? Eastleigh and the Spitfire go together, if you can't use a real one, don't bother trying to invent something like a copy. I'm afraid I won't be buying the shirt, the badge is a false one and its embarrassing.

One minute we are being told that cuts need to be made and then we rebrand. Can anyone shed any light as to what the rebranding has cost the club?

Further to my comments, I've just dug out one of our metal badges showing the spitfire in flight with Eastleigh FC on the top and on the bottom The Spitfires, why wasn't that badge used?

A quote from Eastleigh FC.
“We gave Chris an outline of what we felt was important and briefed him on the history of the club. The very first design he came up with was ultimately the one we have chosen and we could not be happier with the outcome.”
Surely, consultation doesn't go with the first design? Christopher Payne didn't have to work hard that day...
So, we are all now members of Eastleigh Flying Club.

I just went and looked at Google images for Spitfire photos - why couldn't the "artist" do the same. The Spitfire is one of the most elegant of fighter planes. Not a Clunker as portrayed here.
