Hi Spitfires! Long shot but humour me if you will. I’m currently Sunderland on Football Manager ‘16 and want to bring my backroom team up to date with real life. The problem being, Richard Hill (Director of Football) and Paul Reid (Head of Youth Development) have both completely retired from the game.
Anyone know who would be a like for like/similar replacement for both these men? Have Eastleigh had any other DoF during Donald’s time at Eastleigh? That Matt Hewton? Dave Malone? Anyone else? Hess? I’ve brought Jack Midson in rather than Paul Reid.
Can you tell the lockdown boredom has well and truly set in? 😂😂

It was I believe Matt Lewton not Matt Hewton who was involved with Eastleigh. At the time he was at Eastleigh Stewart Donald made the statement below regarding him and saying that Eastleigh did not have a director of football. It is fair to say though that Stewart's opinion of Matt Lewton soon changed.
I would think it unlucky that Eastleigh had any other directors of football under Stewart Donald.
He said: “We do not have a director of football. We are unlikely to have one unless we can get close to the Championship, I would imagine.
“Matt Lewton has been brought into the club to help with scouting, player recruitment, contracts and, dare I say it, player sales.
“He is a very well connected and extremely hardworking guy who has a lot of experience and contacts.
"We thought he would be an asset to the club.
“I will reflect on a job title for him over the Christmas period but, in essence, he helps Martin (Allen, manager) and myself with whatever we ask, from organising travel, ensuring the players have what they need, lunches, scouting, and all the things mentioned above.

Re Paul Reid, if you are looking for an aging player come clubman, then I'd think Ross Flitney would be a good bet. Still registered as a player with us & does stuff with our academy as I well I believe.
