How does it end?!
Looks like there will be no more fixtures played & the likely outcome from this seems to be the season is declared null & void.
Whilst this seems quite unsatisfactory & unfair to the likes of barrow, a better solution is not obvious.

The season needs to finish even if that's behind closed doors. I am hoping all leagues can resume in June and finish in July. There then should be a break in August for the transfer window with the 20/21 season starting in September. I think the Premier league and Championship will not join the league and possibly Fa cups for a year to ease fixture congestion and allow space the Euros. There could be a once in a life time chance for a less glamorous team to win a major trophy.

I think the current season and all cup competitions need to be honoured, whenever we restart, even if this takes us to near the end of the year. I know there will be contract problems but I am sure there are ways round that.
Then following a break we possibly have a far shorter 20/21 season. No cup competitions as they can be shelved as not commenced. Then if push comes to shove the fixtures see teams playing each other once instead of twice. Rugby league used to have three fixtures between sides each season and the third fixture was decided by previous seasons finishing positions having odd numbered positions at home to even numbered and away to other odd numbered. So for instance last years winners (or highest placed relegated to this division club) would be at home to 2nd, 4th, 6th etc and away to 3rd, 5th, 7th etc.
All in all you complete what is already in progress and have a planned shorter season next campaign where everyone knows the associated rules before it kicks off.

Yeah is all very confusing and trying to find the best salutation isn't going to be easy, but as a football fan you would like to see the games played if possible. Another consideration being talked about is the players fitness, some ex footballs are saying they would be in a pre season situation and you couldn't just start playing games without the right preparation.

The ideas so far haven't taken into account finance. If you shorten season 2020-21, how do you pay for it? Also, if you have a one month break in August, is it suggested the players come back without a pre-season? And if so, which players? A month to sort out new contracts, unless there is wheeler-dealing behind the scenes, sort season ticket sales, pitch maintenance and other admin, is pushing it. However, killing the season now opens up a potential legal minefield. The League could argue these are extraordinary circumstances, so how else to achieve an outcome?

Yes, but when? The intent is there, but how and when do you resume? The longer the break, the less likely the resumption.

Even in the famous winter of the 1962/63 season I believe that league games were at least completed by the end of May. I certainly cannot see that happening here.
With leagues at step 3 and below finishing their seasons with no promotion and relegation that would presumably mean no relegation from step 2.
I think it is likely that Bury will reform and play at a lower level and the financial efforts of the Coronavirus epidemic could result in other clubs playing at a lower level.
