Just noticed, as somehow I am still on their mailing list, that Bristol Rovers have opened up season ticket sales for next season now. That will help their cashflow. A potential idea for us to do so too? Was sad to see Barnet giving notice to all their non-playing staff - would hate to see us have to do the same.

Yup agreed.
I saw earlier Sherwoods has closed, ahead of mothers day which has sold out before and could be the biggest take of the year for the restaurant. Thats a loss. Of course we have 6 league games that may not take place as well, so more lost revenue.

I think the idea of starting season ticket sales is certainly a good one in principle and it is close to this time of year that people renew normally. However things are quite uncertain at the moment and we are not sure when the current season will end or even when next season will start.
On the subject of Barnet I have only been there once and I think it is fair to say that a few of the people I encountered were on the officious side, but I do have some sympathy with their position. This unprecedented crisis has made life difficult for all clubs and they may well lose the parachute payments next season.
A couple of Barnet supporters one of whom was Spitfire Bea (who used to post on here regularly) were good friends of Eastleigh football club and would occasionally attend our games. I have never met their chairman who took up the post at 28 and has remained at the helm for 28 years, but he seems an improvement on his predecessor who was Stan Flashman.

I never like to hear people wishing others unemployed. Staff only do what they're told to do. I am sure there are many staff at Barnet who are reasonable, passionate workers. Having a son who is a groundsman at a professional football club, and having had to support him financially while his Club was in financial crisis, the strain on both the worker and family is very hard--nobody should wish that on someone else
