I would say averaging 1.5 points per home game and 1 point per away game would represent a respectable return and produce 58 or 59 points at the end of the season which I think is a total in a 24 team league that virtually ensures no promotion or relegation. The away average slipped below one as a result of Saturday's defeat, while the home average is currently fractionally above 1.5.
I think that when Stewart left for Sunderland it became pretty well impossible for the remaining officers of the club to match his expenditure on players and his subsidising of away travel and season tickets.
I think that if the club was sold to anyone from outside it is doubtful whether season tickets would remain as cheap. Stewart has admitted that he tried to achieve promotion to the football league too quickly, but at the same time I doubt whether he wants to remain in non-league football for any significant period of time.

Can anyone provide one shred of evidence that Stewart Donald has hinted/said that he wants to come back...

If you were told something in confidence not to repeat it elsewhere, what would you do? Exactly, that's why nobody wishes to confirm or deny anything Stewart may, or may not have said :-) You'll have to wait and see.

Sadly those averages rely on our earlier season results with a stronger side than we can put out now. January and February to date fixtures have returned only 5 points from the last 8 games and those points were all gained at home against sides also suffering poor runs of form. Unless we can strengthen the side very soon we could easily be swapping divisions with H&W at the end of this season.

I really dont think we will be relegated, as i think the guys will respond for Ben Strevens, as they did against Fylde. I know people will say that our coming games are going to be against better teams than Fylde but i think they can respond to him and they will. Lets be brutal here, if we go down there will be a lot of heads rolling thats for sure, and the team will certainly get their fair share of redundancies. It never happened before, and weve been closer to relegation than thi, even with Mr Doswell in charge, who l think will loose out in the playoffs

I think that in the four seasons that Paul Doswell was manager of Eastleigh we achieved three promotions and finished 8th in the Conference South the following season. In the next campaign Jason Dodd took over from Paul as manager in early December and we eventually finished 15th out of 22 teams.
A while ago I formed the impression that Stewart was going to see out the season at Sunderland and then see what to do next. However that was before he stepped up plans to sell the club when they were in mid-table. Sunderland are now in the playoff positions and I think a lot could happen at both Sunderland and Eastleigh between now and the end of the season.

The fixtures we have left are as bad as you can imagine, going to be difficult. If we can't get a point a game average we would deserve relegation, right now target should be 54 points, 4 wins will do, but where?

That is the whole point, he has said nothing, he has "sold" the club in the most artificial, thinly disguised way to skirt around the FA laws regarding being financially involved in two clubs. He has in effect put EFC on hold whilst presuing other interests. He has installed a puppet management team to keep the club ticking over. Clearly their instructions are to stay in this league if possible without costing money. Yes Stewart has invested a lot of his (or daddys) cash in the club, but that does not give him the right to mothball EFC incase he decides to pick up the reigns again. He may have access to money but that does not make him god, it does not give him the right to play with the hope's and aspirations of long standing and loyal supporters. I think it is high time for the FA to look into a deal where the owner sells the club for a quid to his loyal staff yet retains ownership of the grounds. Anyone who believes this sale was a legit transaction needs to wake up. We have been taken for a ride and the only person laughing is the OWNER.

Why people on here have to slag Stewart Donald and the board is beyond me. Its totally unacceptable. When Stewart was here he did everything in the interest of Eastleigh FC. Yes he made mistakes but he accepted that but he put Eastleigh on the map. We now have one of the best grounds in the national league and that is down to Stewart Donald. He also made it financially viable for people to come and watch national league football. He may come back he may not but, there is no doubt that without him we would not be where we are now. As for the board, I think they are doing a great job under the circumstances they are working with. If all you knockers think you can do a better job then maybe you should put some of your own cash in and apply to join the board. I suggest you get off their back and let them carry on doing what they think is best for Eastleigh football club.
