Worry we are now in a relegation fight. Aldershot and Fylde home games are now must wins. I worry Stevs is way too slow to change the game. Greener's substitution was probably planned as only just back from injury - but first change in 70th minute when you are 1-0 down is too late - especially as he actually had options not just kids on the bench. Partington's passing is awful at the moment and Payne's corners and free kicks are poor. Surely we have some other dead ball players. But the biggest worry is we always concede (and nearly always first) and we look poor when we are defending - often too deep. Thought Godwin-Malife was good and Alabi's running put Barnett to shame.

No bright spots, we are slowly slipping out of this league and if we drop I fear we never come back up. I agree about the management decisions, far too slow. The new signings need time but we need a result asap no matter how ugly it is.

I know things always look down when you've lost 3 on the bounce, but I honestly don't see us getting sucked into a relegation fight. Injuries & departures have hit hard recently, but we've just added 3 new players and there may be more to come.
Think today was just one of those days where it wouldn't go in. Did think Scott Rendell was unlucky to have been dropped though.

I agree about Partingtons passing, and Paynes corners and free kicks etc, however I also think Mr. Payne plays most of his game facing our own goal, and constantly playing the ball back to the central defenders or dangerously across the penalty box. This happens so often even though it looks as though a counter attack against the opposition is a possibility, we seem to to delay and either hold play up, or play it square or backwards. I liked the look of the loanees, and Alabi certainly wanted to get on the score sheet, I hope they settle in fast and get match fit quickly as well. I cannot contemplate relegation, its just not in the Eastleigh history book.

"I cannot contemplate relegation, its just not in the Eastleigh history book."
As Eastleigh FC (since 1980) we've NEVER been relegated. The last time was as "Swaythling Athletic" in 1963/4 when we finished rock bottom of Hampshire League, Div One winning only 3 league games all season.

Relegation is not an issue, just reaching the play offs this season is my only concern.

It was a disappointing afternoon. Regarding individual players I thought Jack Payne was one of our best and most effective players, breaking down Chesterfield moves and quickly finding players in space. Overall though there were times when our decision making looked off and we were too slow to move the ball on but things should improve as new players are bedded in. It can't be easy to find the best set up when you're relying on players who have only just been signed and you've had no time to work with them in training. I do think we were unlucky with the blinding saves their keeper made on several occasions starting with keeping out that precision header in the early minutes that Danny Hollands placed just inside the post. And sorry but I have to say that these referees always seem to favour the ex league clubs. I don' t know whether that comes from some agenda the National League has but I reckon they think we are tin pot compared with such a "big" club as Chesterfield and will be desperate to keep them in this league.
