Anyone know why there is no match report in the Echo

The Echo is at Death's Door. Nearly all the full-time staff have been let go. Most items are regurgitated press releases. If someone sent them a match report they would put if on their webpages at once.

Sounds pretty daft. Surely there will be a report in tomorrow’s paper version?!

Taylov is right about there having been reductions in Echo sports staff and the Southampton paper's Non League Reporter did leave unfortunately. In fairness though, The Echo did manage to keep a significant local sports coverage a lot longer than most provincial papers of its size.

For once, yesterday's print version of the "Echo" did have a report on Tuesday's win against Borehamwood, although the headline "Saints U-23's striker makes Eastleigh bow" might suggest that Marcus Barnes' debut might have been the only reason. The piece was by Simon Walter.
