I suspect that events of the last week, will persuade at least a couple who might have been thinking of moving to pastures new, to have a rethink.
One things for sure, EFC is an attractive club to play for and we will not be short of agents offering us their players.

I believe Reda has a deal for next season as well

I was sure Réda was one of the players who’s contract was definitely up? Would save us quite a bit of money. I notice none of the players so far are hinting about next season at all, although it is a long summer. We will see. Looks like Kenny, Tom et al are going to be very busy over the summer!!

I think what the club is able to afford must come into the equation, but some players in the past have been willing to stay at the club even on reduced wages and I think it is important that players playing for the club do not do so just for the money.
I read an article recently about the amount the clubs spend on agents and it made interesting reading. Sunderland apparently spent more than all other League 1 clubs combined and Eastleigh were high up the list amongst National League clubs for the last year even though I expect that less is spent now than when Stewart was at the club.

I think Reda will be with us next year. Certainly if he is going to be able to play 30 odd games, he is going to be a huge asset. I would also bust a get to get Luke Southwood, if only on another loan deal. Its pretty clear that the players have built something special these last couple of weeks, and accepting we have a budget we need to stick to, I think most of the out of contract players will end up renewing.

I think it is fair to say that generally Reda makes a lot of difference to the team when he plays. However it seems that him playing as many as 35 games appears to be regarded as a bonus which means that someone else needs to come in for the other games. IF that player does well he may be frustrated if Reda automatically regains his place when fit and if he does not do well then it could mean crucial points are lost.
In the latter stages of the season a run of three games where Reda did not play saw three defeats and ten goals conceded and next season if we want to remain in the top seven we will probably need to reduce the number of defeats and improve the goal difference.

Paul McCallum is another you would really want to keep. If he can get another 20+ then that would do nicely.
Certainly as said above our playoff challenge and getting so close to Wembley should raise our ability to get good players and keep the existing ones we'd like to keep.
Would expect some news on this in the next week or so.

Yes I would have thought you are right there I would imagine by end of week we will know the retained list and also know the ST prices.
In other news Dean Beckwith, Brett Williams, Nicky Bailey released by Sutton players would have in a heartbeat. Ebbsfleet the exodus has started also

Can we / should we finalise the retained list before confirming Strevens contract? Or will it be a new manager?

Its impossible to say. It depends who is available to talk and when. Also some players may well want to wait for offers before committing. You just have to trust the people in charge to do their job. You can be fairly confident they will do.

Find it hard to believe Zeb has been let go, and Williamson being offered new contract Part of me is and part isn’t. Zeb hasn’t really ever had a scoring streak with us whereas Williamson has the ability to and has the pace to go with it. I think it would have been a close call but the right one. I’d expect at least 2 strikers to come in, specially as I can’t imagine McCallum will be staying with us. I’d be very surprised, and happy, if he did stay though. For me Yeates, Hare and Jones are very important to keep. The rest are replaceable in my opinion. First things first we need to get a contract for Strevs and his team sorted quickly!!
