So on paper looks like a very winnable game against a team likely to go down. Of course in practice we know it often doesn't work like that & if we needed reminding Maidstone won on Saturday so will be looking at mounting a mission impossible style escape.
I note we have not won at home this season by more than 1 goal. Not once. So no doubt tomorrow will be a close game with the result in the balance right up until the final whistle.

If we play with heavy rain and strong winds, it will make for a dire game; however at this stage of the season who cares? A 1-0 win will do.

The current BBC forecast shows that the rain will be heavy until about 1400 and stop by 1800. The winds will have died down by then.
So if the pitch is covered then there must be a fair chance of it being on, in conditions better than they are at the time I wrote this.
I wouldn't be surprised at a scrappy 1-0 win against a team fighting for their lives, either.

no - must be a long pitch inspection, or else someone hasn't updated Twitter yet and is keeping us all in suspense.
I see tonight's match at Stoneham is off, but they don't have covers....

Forecast to feel like -4 tonight on the forecasts. Can't say I will be in tears if this off. But game on, the sort of game that wins or loses you things at the end of the season.

Well done to all for getting the pitch ready - I thought it played well. Pretty dreadful game, I thought, but obviously a good result - comfortable win, and we move into sixth. We dominated the first half but hardly ever threatened, it was slightly more even in the second, but we looked comfortable and clinched it with a really good goal by Yatesy after great work on the left by Ben W. Yates again had a quietish game apart from the goal, despite getting MOM, mainly because he was playing in the centre and consequently got less of the ball.
On this showing I'm afraid Maidstone look doomed, but no shortage of effort from them, both on the pitch and on the bench :-). Barrow won convincingly at Wrexham tonight so should make Saturday's game interesting.
IMO 1642 on a night like this one wasn't a bad turnout. And some noise again too.

Dreadful first half, better second. We were worthy winners but didn't play well. My MOTM would have been Reda. Never comfortable, at least not for me watching it. Still it was just a game we had to win, everything else was irrelevant. Another tough one Saturday, it is now 7 from 8. We need to make sure we are not the ones missing out.

Not a game to write home about, but we did enough to record our biggest home win of the season! Two good goals, I thought Maidstone came to frustrate us and maybe nick a goal, just like Halifax, but they were nowhere near the quality of Halifax & physically made Eastleigh look a team of giants. Almost. A belated word of praise also for David Rock, the ref. So often our nemesis in previous games this season, he appeared to have it in for Maidstone last night. So my word of praise is 'alright'.

Agree with most of the above. Am looking forward to seeing the highlights as I missed the goals having been in the gents on both occasions!
