I recall the possibility of Reda departing was mentioned in passing during the Radio Solent commentary at Ebbsfleet.

Not surprised considering how well he's been playing and how he's maintained his fitness. What level club is he likely to go to? Surely he won't be allowed to leave to go to a NL club?

He will be allowed to leave for anyone who will take him. Its simple economics; the money he is on, and could be on next year is astronomical. My guess is he will go to a league 1 club. If he maintains his fitness he could easily play there. He has IMO been our standout player this year.

Sunderland? A good player, better than this level.

I'm going against the flow here - I still think Reda is overrated - yes, he sometimes looks good on the ball and can be a strong defender.
But - apart from his injury proneness (which has improved a lot this season, fortunately), if he's that good, he should be doing a lot more for us. He sometimes takes a lot of chances at the back, not always successfully, he does not initiate as many attacks as he should if supposed to be a good passer (uses the long ball far too often) and he should be scoring more goals from set pieces if he's so dominant in the air. I've seen him do some good things (and I've seen all the home games apart from Havant), but not often enough to merit all the praise (and money) he gets. In my book Alex Wynter has been just as valuable to the team this season - he and Josh Hare were two excellent signings. And I still haven't forgotten that performance in our home defeat v Wrexham earlier in the season when he was just... awful.

Agree to some extent and certainly his performances against Ebbsfleet and Solihull were woeful. Wynter and Hare are the defenders we should look to for the future and hopefully we can keep them for next season.

two league one clubs, sunderland one i would guess? I would be horrified if Sunderland were even vaguely interested in Reda. Considering his injury record he’s miles off that top of table league 1 level. . For me, he’s the best player we’ve ever had but his constant injuries would suggest to me he’ll end up at Leyton Orient or someone in League 2. This season is as good as over. Getting a fee would be the least of our priorities, getting him off the wage bill early would be a great result.

I reckon he could so a short term job for sunderland. quality player with a lot of champ and league 1 games, he is only 30 and seems to have gotten over his fitness problems

I agree, he often takes a little too much time to shift the ball and ends up hitting an uncontrolled long ball. I think Boyce has been our best centre back this year, simple unfussy but effective defending.
