We don't know who the club interviewed, but in the end the correct decision was made. Strevs has been at the club a long time, on & off, and knows it well and after all the upheaval in the past 2 & a bit years, we really do need stability which he will provide. It will be interesting to see how his backroom staff developes and whether we will be in the market for new players, fulltime or loan in the coming weeks & months. Congratulations, Ben and good luck in taking Eastleigh FC forward.

It appears that former Basingstoke manager Jason Bristow has been appointed Assistant Manager. Funnily enough as he helped Ben the other evening it did cross my mind that he could be the one outside the shortlisted seven in the running.
Some people thought that Ben was always destined to get the job, but I am not sure whether that would have been the case if we had not put in better performances against Halifax and Leyton Orient.
It has been mentioned that people with Premier League or Championship experience applied, but there are those who meet that description who currently manage lower placed National League clubs, including one former manager of ours. There are also those with international management experience who have probably been out of the game too long, even though they have yet to reach retirement age.
In recent years the majority of the club's managerial appointments have lasted less than a year. Let us hope this is not the case here.
