Arguably, this is our biggest game so far this season, but we're without Stryjek (Cup Tied by SAFC), Greener (new dad, congratulations!!), Hare (well documented bad foot), Johnson and Zebroski (not stated). So that's 5 of our best players "rested" or whatever. I hope Strevs knows what he's doing. At this particular time, I have a sinking feeling, similar to after the game v Hereford last season.

nobadspitfire was right.
Weakened team but Hess would have managed to get 15-20% more from this lot, and we might actually have given their keeper something to do.#
We had the ball a lot in the first half, they gained confidence in the second half and the winning goal (coming from our losing the ball, not for the first time) wasn't unexpected.
They weren't that great either, so the game looked a portent for life in the Conf South if we got relegated (which, I repeat, I don't think we will) - poor quality football in front of a small crowd (supposedly 740 today).
A chance of some glory and some money gone again, like Hereford last season. Good job Orient, Salford and Chesterfield are at the Silverlake in the next month.

So, it seems a lot has been going on at the football club in the past 48hrs & Strevs is not too happy with it. On the face of it he will not be getting the job & the players didn't do anything to help him get it today. He doesn't deserve it after that performance. No passion. Expect some news early next week??

Yes, I too heard that a number of changes are being made at the club. Certainly this afternoon did nothing to advance Strevs case.

Rank awful result, another chance of a decent tie and revenue lost again. Please appoint someone who can motivate the team and has an eye for a player looking towards the future. FAT only left now for a chance of excitement this season. Worst of all the result today won’t be getting any more bodies flocking to the Lake.

Dreadful performance, wrong tactics, and a passionless display in our biggest game of the season. Strevens will not be getting the job, 1 of 6 will. I expect an appointment very soon. We deserve better than this. Was trying to work out when a worse team won at the Silverlake, I cannot remember. Be in no mistake Hampton were poor, but better than us and deserved the win.

I wouldn't say Hampton were poor, but they knew their limitations & had a game plan which they executed perfectly. Namely, soak up what pressure we could inflict on them, press us in midfield to force mistakes and hope to score on a breakaway. They nearly did so at the end of the first half. Thoroughly deserved their win.

Rudderless both on and off the field, at least £25k down the drain, worst performance ever? A caretaker manager who spends al. Match silent with his hands in his pockets, new manger needed now before the rot sets in.

soak up what pressure we could inflict on them
In 95 minutes of football, apart from one goalmouth scramble, a couple of headers and a couple of shots that were several feet wide, I don't think there was any pressure. All a matter of opinion I agree, but for me the worst team to win at the Silverlake for at least 18 months and probably longer. Our performance was absolutely woeful, the second half unbelievably so. BS said the team wanted him to be manager, I'd love to see how they would play if they didn't!

Really disappointing way to go out the FA Cup. Obviously missing key players, but even so we were well below bar.
Last Saturday at 15.30 Strevens was probably favourite for the job, now he probably has a snowballs chance.

Have to agree with everything you say michaelefcsay my thoughts exactly. i don't post on here much but I was very frustrated with the game today. No fight,no passion so the players and the manager need to take a good hard look at themselves and question what went wrong and start to put it right. probably the worst game I've seen at the silverlake over the past 5 years. i will always support my team but sometimes your feelings need to be expressed.

Looking at what has happened to directors movements through Companies house it looks like a takeover is on the cards and this needs to happen soon, under BS the players have given up, no effort at al today, worse still I had to pay to watch that.
