Looking forward to the usual social media post on Friday with a caption underneath Cresswell and Johnson pictured in training 'the lads have been working hard in training this week ahead of the game' Cresswell and Johnson are bigger problems than people think. Fully fit they are no doubt one of the best if not the best defenders in this division. But the fact is that they are not fit and are collecting very easy money for doing sod all. So it's no wonder that Howe and Boyces performances have gone completely to pot because they are demoralised that these two are stealing a living. If they aren't going to play (and they aren't exactly young) why don't we just cut our losses? It's not like we are used to not wasting money anyway this past year.

Cut our losses??? Its SD that would have to cough up and to pay them off would be a colossal amount of money and he's not doing it. He has been honest enough to admit he has made mistakes in signing contracts off after trusting Matt Lewton to write them up. It hurt him, as a businessman his pride took a hit. This is why he brought back RH, a friend whom he trusts completely, he knows RH will protect him and his money from those trying to rip him off. In this respect RH is doing just that as he wades through the mess he inherited when he came back, slowly but surely he is getting them out of the door. Next summer RH can truly start to build his team, so while it has been disappointing this season you have to look at the whole picture. Some of these players are hard to shift because of the fantastic contracts they were given and his hands are tied because of it. In an ideal world cutting our losses would be easy, but the club has to make a stand and show players coming in future that the so called gravy train to retirement is well and truly over, in the long run the club will be all the better for making this stand...the future is bright.

If bright is the word you describe the conference south than so be it but that's the only place we are heading, and as for SD not paying off their contracts he is happy to waste money on a new stand (we don't need it) and happy to pay a club record fee for Bondz ngala and just tear it up. Appreciate these two are on high contracts and all but money gets wasted constantly at this club, even this season. While these two time wasters are at the club team spirit won't improve.

I get what you are saying efcspitfire but what everyone needs to understand is that ML caused this mess. It is very unfair to say money has been wasted on the new stand because SD continues to build up the future of this football club. Remember where we were 6 years ago, a blue stand and very little cover from wind and rain around the perimeter of the pitch. I've said before I would take relegation if it meant we got back up in one season and avoid the pitfalls we fell into when entering the National League first time round, but hopefully we can stay in this league without wasting a season in the National South. What SD is doing building the ground up is NOT part of the playing budget and I think we should be bloody grateful for what he has done in this respect. There will come a day when we reach the football league and with the ground already up to league standard when we do, we'll have a damn good playing budget to begin life attempting to reach league one asap. When you look at it in this way, SD's business plan looks extremely well thought out, as I said, the future is bright.
