Eddie Howe hasn't done too badly though, second time around. I don't have any journalist sources Keith. I just keep an open mind knowing from my own experience that I was always the only person other than my boss at the time who ever knew the real reasons why I ever left a company.

There you go John....you named Eddie Howe...he was successful only when returning for his second spell....no one has returned and been successful after achieving it first time round.

I think you'll find that Eddie Howe did rather well for AFCB with at least one promotion and producing a team that played very good football before he was tempted north by Burnley. So I would argue that he has done well in both spells.

I cannot be sure, but I would guess that Richard Hill's last five results of his first spell were a factor in him leaving the post.
With regards to James Constable I believe he played his best football for the club during Richard's first spell when our scoring record was better than our defensive record. Ben Wright has had a lot of clubs in his career and has been most successful at National League South.
If Richard does get the job full time then I would guess that the club's expectations in the National League are higher now than they were in our first two seasons in the competition.

I've long held the theory that RH was simply worn out when he walked away. He seemed to be doing a lot round the club over that promotion season and first season in conference. He looks fitter and happier now and we also have a larger and more professional back room team. Yes he will have his favourites and I won't always agree with team selections and substitutions but I have confidence he is the right man to have around.
