Just got home (1pm Monday) and the garden is still frozen rock hard from last night's frost - a garden fork bounced off the lawn, no give at all.
Tonight's forecast from the airport is a low of minus 5C with the air temperature is still expected to be below zero until late morning tomorrow at the earliest. Doesn't sound too good.

If you believe the BBC weather forecast, freezing fog will return tonight and only lift by mid-morning tomorrow, from where the temperature should rise to 6 degrees. No fog forecast for tomorrow night, so that's one less worry.
I think it depends when we've got to make a decision - Woking called their Sat game off v Tranmere last weekend the day before, presumably to save on expenses.
Macclesfield is a similar distance, so I'd expect us to have to make a decision about lunchtime tomorrow at the latest.

0845 inspection for our match tomorrow.
Doubt whether it will be fit at that time. If they can see enough of it.

"The Silverlake has seen a week of constant sub-zero temperatures with tomorrow’s forecast looking the same. A decision has been made at the earliest point to call the inspection."
Unless the current airport forecast is VERY wrong the pitch will be frozen solid at 08.45. Sounds like we are doing it early to save Macclesfield from travelling.

Interesting to see Pompey's u21 game with Norwich is being played OK tonight at Havant. I assumed there would be nothing on local at all.

Winchester called their weekend match at home to Bideford on Friday afternoon.
Will the rearranged fixture be free if it's called off?

Seemed to be a fairly mild night last night, no frost on the car windscreen

You need to get up earlier ;-) there was frost on mine at half 5!! Temperatures up the country have been around -2 this morning. I guess it depends how long they can wait until they make the decision.

There's a light mist here in the middle of town and my back lawn could take a stud. 😁

Well I can tell you the fog has lifted in Northampton!! Going past Silverstone was the worst, couldn't see the lane markings on the dual carriageway!
