Obviously people have different views on these things which you'd expect but just to clarify a few points about the booing I made reference to.
1. No one is saying booing is illegal. I think someone has got the wrong end of the stick there. 2. The booing I heard sounded very localised and from a small group. It was while the players were still warming up and the ground hadn't filled so you'd only hear it if you were within earshot at the right time. It did happen though and the players would have been able to hear it though some of them perhaps don't really register the noise around them at that time. 3. My contention is not with booing generally but with the negative response being made to a new Eastleigh player who should be being welcomed. I'd guess the Boreham Wood fans though would have been delighted to hear an opposing player being made unwelcome by his own fans before the match had even started. - Like I said, mindless, and I would be more than happy to encourage these so called Eastleigh supporters who were booing Tyler Garratt's name to go elsewhere.
Re Luke "he won't be with us for long" Coulson I have felt for a while that there was too much hype surrounding him. He produced some excellent performances but that levelled off a bit under Ronnie Moore. I think though that he has been at his best playing wide and cutting in and has not seemed really suited to the more central roles he has been being asked to play recently.
Personally I think the whole side will function better when we have Joe Partington back from suspension and I hope he comes back into the centre of midfield where he excelled last time I saw him pay a full match. The only thing is every time I talk a player up he seems to get dropped or injured so I hope that doesn't happen this time.

My thoughts... Childs did very well on debut, showed some promise. Hoyte & Garratt had steady games, defensively did well and Garratt put in a decent ball for Beano's goal. Togwell cleared things up nicely in the middle, what happens to Taylor when fit? Strevens did ok, but again - feel he would play that DM role. Great to see Beano on the scoresheet, showed a little bit of the player we know. Only question is why Pipe came on for Reda when we have Dugdale on the bench? Was Dugdale not fit to play? I thought Hoyte was offering us something down the right. As much as I like David Pipe, he's not the quickest and got done a couple of times in the second half. Andy Drury is also clearly missed... I said on a previous thread I think it will take until March, possibly the end of the season for Martin Allen to sort out the squad... With the In's & Out's results won't be consistent.. as he said last night in his interview - ideally he will have a squad of 18-20 players. Steve, Duggy is still not 100%, but when I spoke to him before the game he said he were on bench and hoped to get some playing time. I know I go on about him, but he is a quality player and Wembley winner, so has got the experience needed. He had other offers post season, but joined Eastleigh as he can see the club going places, so when he is fit, and if picked, expect 110% from the lad

£1,000,000 for LC. I'd crawl over broken glass for that!

I was meaning that booing is not crime of the century, not nice but if people want to boo then they are at liberty to do so. Personally I believe sorting the children with pyro/smoke should be a much higher priority - that is, in my opinion, mindless and will have far greater consequences to individuals and possibly to the club than booing. I am still in two minds about going to Brentford, because I am fairly sure they will have it in a tightly packed area which could cause problems

I think the club have acted swiftly on the pyro, its only happened once by an EFC fan and I believe there was a banning. I doubt there will be any issues at Brentford and I would expect them to have a team in place Police/stewards to deal with anything swiftly. Without knocking Eastleigh FC - Brentford are 3 divisions above us so you would expect them to be more professional with that sort of thing anyway.
Don't think our stewards could realistically search 2000 people & even if they did IMO it wouldn't be desirable to do so. So I say go for it Dave :0)
booing after a game I don't really have a problem with - before a game to a new signing is pretty naff IMO.

Dave, re your comment above, they are two completely separate and different issues so it's not a case of priorities.
The pyromaniacs need to be (and I think are) dealt with as we have discussed in a separate thread.
The situation I took exception to is just a matter of immature half wits behaving appallingly badly and has nothing to do with public safety.
No one is saying or implying that the fireworks/flares are not top priority. They are a matter of public safety and clearly are of the utmost concern. I really don't understand why you think anyone is suggesting otherwise.

Re the booing, I didn't hear it & would not condone it, however, if those responsible had known Greener was replaced because of recent ill health, they probably wouldn't have done it. It's a shame, in a way, that the club didn't/couldn't let us know in advance that Ryan Huddart & Greener wouldn't be starting the game & the reasons, but I accept that EFC don't want the opposition to know such things in advance. Having said that we publicise longer term injuries. Would it not be possible to make an announcement on the scoreboard after the team sheets have gone to the referee etc. why players expected to start are not? That though again may raise more questions than answers.

I am positive going onto he new year.
A entertaining match ( maybe a disappointing result).
The makings of a fine young No.2 Keeper.
2.200 Gate.
JC scoring again.
We have the two best full backs in the league - though neither played against BW.
Still not a team but a better display and I have faith in MA.

Do I have faith in MA? 100% yes Will he turn it around? 100% yes When will he turn it around? Hopefully starting tomorrow; I do have a gut feeling though this might take longer than we would like.
