Have just watched and would recommend this one-off programme.
It gives a balanced insight into the lives of players who don't happen to be amongst the big club big time elite and who reach a point in their careers where they are out of contract and need to find another club to be able to keep paying the bills. It's not hard to realise this is a situation which is probably familiar to a large number of the lads we cheer or abuse every week in the National League.
There's the added interest of some footage towards the end which was shot at the Silverlake pre-season featuring some of our most famous supporters - not to mention a well know photographer.
It's available on catch-up but will also be on again at 5.30pm next Wednesday.

Cheers, sounds interesting. Any other way of getting it online for those of us without sky?

Sky subscribers have access to Sky Go which allows them to watch Sky TV on their nominated devices. I'm not sure though if you can access "catch up" and download previously shown Sky programmes on Sky Go. If not, the best option might be to watch it live on someone's computer when it's repeated next Wednesday, if there's anyone you know locally who has Sky Go.

The irony of having a programme like that on Sky. 😄

On a similar theme, I've just finished reading a book I was given for Xmas. Journeyman, one man's odyssey through the lower leagues of English football, by Ben Smith. A very enjoyable read, indeed. Ben played for Weymouth, Hereford, Crawley and many other teams & retired from the professional game in 2012. He's maybe typical of so many players in the lower leagues & would have a lot in common with many of our players. He played with the likes on Matt Tubbs, Craig McAllister, Andy Drury, Dean Beckwith to name just 4. It would be a good lesson to any aspiring professional to read the book & see where he went wrong! But really, for anyone interested in the game at our level, it makes facinating reading & I recommend it highly.
