Shame for the club but we shouldn't stand in his way when he gets bigger opportunities. Just hope he won't spend the whole season on the bench. Good luck to him.

If it is Notts County I'd take a guess that as part of releasing Richard from his contract we have a friendly next pre season at the silverlake as a gesture of thanks....only guessing mind!!

Was he even under contract yet ? 2 year contract when he signed for us... I know he signed a contract, just wasnt sure of the start date as some players around the country sign pre contract agreements to start as of july 1st for example. I expect he was paid from the day he signed, just wondered if that was the case.

27 May when he signed I believe, you would have thought there would be some sort of compensation to be paid to EFC. In affect I suppose the contract has not been adhered to - interesting times?

Very strange situation. I'm thinking one of 2 things:
1) He didn't actually sign a contract in the first place. 2) He signed but kept looking around and found what he considered to be a better offer, which is taking the p!ss and we should certainly have collected a fee given him being on a 2 year contract.
TBH I suspect the former.

What's this nonsense about a chance to play league football. He turned down a league 1 contract.
Call it like it is and show some balls behind the reason.

Apparently he wasn't out of contract and therefore free until 30th June. It was a verbal agreement to sign with us once his contract was up. Guessing they made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
