Just had a chat with a mate of mine who unfortunately is a Luton ST holder and goes every game. He said he cannot understand why they have let Jake go. Said he pretty much plays every game and then was out for 6 weeks with a knee injury, but came back stronger in April. He said he can play LB or left wing, but he preferred him as a winger, as he's good going forward and gets his fair share of goals. With 300 games under his belt at that age, he looks like a terrific signing...if we know how to use him that is...

Any left sided player is a Godsend. With his experience this looks a top class signing. We have obviously sold him a vision, as he could have gone to any number of league clubs.

Sounds like a really good signing on paper.
Right age and proven at this level & above.
I note its a 2 year contract as well, I make that the third player signed up for the 17-18 season with coulson and drury.

On paper, brilliant brilliant signing, well done to all involved. Does he have goals in him though if he's playing left wing?

I am a Luton supporter, now living in Eastleigh. Go to many Luton games still. Howells is a good solid player, who can play multiple positions, LB, LM, CM. But he is average in all those positions but could not hold down 1 positstion to say its his, very much a ultility player who can play well in many positions but not good enough for any of them on a regualr basis in my opinion. I can see why he was let go after many years at Luton, its a shame but just not quite good enough. Think he will be a good signing though, I would say his best position is LB, not fast enough as a winger, not a good enough passer for CM. Always works hard and gives his all. What would be an awesomne signing for Eastleigh though would be Alex Lawless, he was let go at same time as Howells, very good quality Midfielder, surprised he was released.

Haven't a clue who he is so I'll await a couple of games to see what he is like. Assuming he goes left mid, so will be interested to see who we get in for left back to dovetail with him. I guess we will be getting a new left front man too, so a lot of gelling to do. We have got a top left back , Michael Green is his name . To much guessing and assuming me thinks !!!!

We have got a top left back , Michael Green is his name . To much guessing and assuming me thinks !!!! No guessing at all. Any player can of course force their way into a team by performing well, but Greener is not likely to be 1st choice, as stated the other night at meeting. So your previous post about assuming and guessing in not correct then ? Also it was stated that greener was not a first choice ? I dont think so . we will see .
