Great to break the 2K barrier, I would never have thought we would do that, thought we would be down on last years average.
Very positive & hopefully an encouragement to all to press ahead with some improvements to facilities in the close season.

Of all the impressive achievements under SD, getting an average league attendance of over 2,000 is little short of astonishing. If we can maintain that level of support over coming years there is no reason at all, why we cannot become a football league club.

Tremendous average but giving away two matches for free does give it a little bit of a false edge. Today's gate though does prove that the town will come out and pay to support as well.

Not much TBH boyatthood.
If we guess the 2 freebies each attracted 1200-1400 "extra" fans which we deduct from the total it still leaves an average of about 1900.

Wasn't it 3 free games? Gateshead (I wasn't at), FGR & Barrow? Not that I'm quibbling...... Excellent achievement to average 2000 anyway.

I thought the Gateshead game offered lots of free tickets for community/youth clubs, but not the general public? Don't forget half of the 'official' attendance includes season ticket holders - they're always in the number. But good to see the average increasing anyway. In spite of all that boring football we're playing

Attendance will soon dwindle if the Hitler in charge of the clubhouse keeps capacity at 200, it's been fine for 40 years, now all of a sudden the change. Many regulars get to the ground after 2pm and were turned away Saturday, with it 'at capacity' but virtually empty.

Had to wait about 5 mins to get in the clubhouse on Saturday as it was "at capacity" walked in, straight to the bar and served. It was half full!

In the past no-one took the clubhouse capacity too seriously - Eg. the Newport mid-week game a few years back. These days we have to work to the instruction of the Safety Officer. All hail the Safety Officer. Those who disrespect the Safety Officer will be disappeared.

Hopefully the safety officer gets a free transfer this season, seriously though the clubhouse capacity can't be 200 surely? 3 exit points with a 4th effectively via the 'supporters bar'

I've heard a certain someone is building you a new one with real glasses, the trouble with health and safety is everyone sees it as an inconvenience until something bad happens then out come the pointy fingers

Capacity will treble for the start if next season - albeit I take the point - and it is a very serious issue.
