I reckon a handful (at most) of EFC fans left early & maybe a couple of dozen casuals left early to beat the traffic. Can't believe it was anywhere near hundreds. Pretty embarrassing stuff TBH. This is the sort of stuff other clubs post on their forums as "proof" that Eastleigh are a tinpot club. Who gives a flying **** what other clubs forums have to say. I don't even give a flying **** what some of our own fans have to say.

Unfortunately for us Tranmere are a considerably better side than Barrow and they would doubtless have been more fired up as it was obviously a crucial game for them!
We didn't offer much going forward which has been a bit of a story in the last couple of months (not for the earlier part of the season), we may also have had half an eye on matters at Wrexham & the possibility of a draw being a decent result.
For a few brief minutes towards the end of the first half we were in the playoff places in the "as things stand" table.

Sattsy - no, I didn't specifically mean you. And the fact that I said I was 'quite amused' by it didn't mean I don't understand the point people are making here. As you say, people pay their money and can take their choice. But I think the players would have appreciated a bit more support when they were trying to save their season. And I used the word 'trying'.
Bomber, no - underachievement is not necessarily caused by lack of effort, in any sphere of life. It can also be dopn to lack of talent, being unfit, or even being unhappy with their environment. Maybe other things too.
That's what a manager is for - to try and get every member of the team pulling together, and all gving their optimum. I certainly can't account for the inconsistency this season - injuries, suspensions, and the pitch won't have helped, but RH left after the first bad run and CT got a lot of criticism here for the second bad run (and Sean North left). It would be fascinating to hear about the dynamics in the camp.

If home fans had been witnessing a lack of effort from their team I doubt if the same players would have produced a home record including the Tranmere game of 20 points from 7 matches which included 3 wins against in form teams, a further victory against a team that scored 8 goals in their previous game, and another game in which they came from a goal and a man down to win.
Clearly there is plenty of improvement especially up front, but our defence is probably as strong as it has ever been since promotion.

I once left a game early a couple of sesons ago and missed the winning goal ( think it was against Southport). Now I always stay til the final whistle ☺

Just to clarify something about the hundreds walking out, I've heard many went early because BBC were showing the cup semi final at 5-15 and that's the reason for so many. I'd forgotten about it myself, never even watched it!!!

I've heard that there is some absolute nonsense being spouted on an Internet forum.

'I've heard many went early because BBC were showing the cup semi final at 5-15'
Was it Tranmere fans leaving, since Everton were in the semi-final? I didn't see any of them leave. They supported their team right until the end, and were rewarded with a winning goal.
Surely no Eastleigh fan would leave in order to watch Man U (or Everton) on the box :-P Anyway, if they did, that's their choice. In any case, couldn't they have watched the game in the clubhouse? Or were all these people trying to get out early to avoid the traffic? Happens at Anfield, apparently...

It's OK, you have the choice not to read it if you're not being entertained ;-)

As you say it was their choice if wanting to watch a game on TV but it does explain why so many went early. I left because the football was dour and that's a fact I'd rather watch paint dry it's more entertaining.
