I thought Welling played well, especially with 10 men for 65 minutes, and deserved a point.
First half we were terrible. Better second half but there was little urgency today. Midfield slow. Yemi good second half, Tubbs wasn't. Apart from Midson's miss, he hardly got the ball during the game.
Noticed most of our attacks came down the left first half (Harding is not an attacker) and down the right second half (which is why Yemi was better).
A point was the right result, it's pretty damaging but not disastrous. The performance was. We must improve and show more urgency at Torquay.

Pretty sure life doesn't work like that and the season ticket prices seem to be working for the club with another cracking gate today

Never met a bigger bunch of bell ends in my life. What 15 year old tries to start a fight with a group of adults in the away area? Do they not realise we go through the same exit? Great image for SD "family club" philosophy. Felt shameful to even be seen standing in the Same stand and supporting the same club as them. When you see people move their children away because other adults move over to encourage the aggro behaviour just shows how bad it was. Got a lot of work before it gets anywhere near what Stewart wants the club to be. Guess thats the downside of cheap season tickets... Unfortunately football always attracts idiots which ever team you are. On the whole I think Eastleigh do a terrific job welcoming families and I am always happy to bring my son and friends like I did today. I am sure Stewart would like to create a family section at some point but I think he can be very proud of the family atmosphere that has been achieved so far.

Pretty sure life doesn't work like that and the season ticket prices seem to be working for the club with another cracking gate today Would you not agree that the lower the fee they pay then the less they care about disiplinary actions against their potential behaviour? So it kinda does work like that, they either behave after paying enough to care or do not turn up at all... shame. Although i agree it does benefit gate in that way. No wouldn't agree at all people are either idiots or they're not and it's more to do with nuture rather then the financial situation they are in. if you prefer a more refined experience you are probably better off going to the Polo and giving footy a miss. plenty of idiots pay £50 plus to watch footy every week

Fanimo on the bench. Thought he had been released. Couldn't make today's game but this is exactly what I thought when I saw him on the bench!

Pet Boat you are an idiot and seem to be on a wind up. I agree though that the club need to block an area off and call in a family area. The first block of the McCoy stand maybe. Anyone that is offended by bad language and rowdy behaviour can safely sit there and enjoy there day out in that part of the ground.

Don't think it has anything to do with the price of season tickets and bloody patronising of you to say so plenty of people with plenty of money are bloody idiots one may be US President later this year Higher prices means actual fans are willing to pay the price rather than people who are looking for a fight who would be put off by it. I'm not going to condone ANY violence, but that's a very simplistic, and ridiculous comment. Having money doesn't cause stuff like this to stop, and not having money doesn't cause it. As Westendspitfire correctly says, over here if we are really unfortunate, we could end up with a VERY rich, VERY idiotic President I obviously wasn't there, but there always has seemed to be trouble when we play Welling. How do you know the trouble makers were season ticket holders?

Don't like to pick on individual players but for me tubbs has not offered anywhere near enough since he has joined us. IMO he has been lucky to start the last couple of games.
I didn't get round to posting on the tubbs/beano thread last week but if you are only going to play one of them at the moment it HAS to be beano - absolute no brainer.
Agree it's not a disaster but we have little margin for error, really need to beat Torquay on Monday.

Fanimo drove me nuts today. He reminded me of Ronaldo early doors at United. He beat his man multiple times easily at the first attempt and did the hard bit, but rather than do the simple bit well with a simple ball he then wanted to try and beat his man again and ran in to dead ends.

Its a shame a few people decided to boo at the final whistle. Disapointing result but there was still plenty of hard work and effort in the 2nd half. I disagree with petboats comments about cheap season tickets and Eastleigh not being a family friendly club. People of all ages support Eastleigh fc and its a club to be proud of. People dont just go to games that are covered by the season ticket, fans pay extra to attend fa cup, fa trophy, hampshire senior cup, pre season friendlies and away games. Making ticket prices affordable helps increase the fan base and reward exsisting fans for their loyal surport.

Cheaper prices mean more fans.
More fans mean a bigger chance of some (a small proportion) of those fans behaving like idiots.
I don't think that cheap prices attract worse-behaved fans. Unless you're trying to say that poorer people are worse-behaved?
By the way, I counted 19 fans in the Welling part of the stand. Hardly a big conquest for any budding hooligan.

Thanks for the comments about my daughter. She is doing really well and seems to be on the road to recovery at last. Excellent news mate let's hope she stays at this positive level. As for fans that might boo or cause trouble you are not wanted. Cheers , happy weekend of religion the worlds biggest killer.

Why we persist with playing it long for the first half hour or so is beyond me. Before the sending off Welling were easy on the eye, keeping the ball on the floor and moving it well, they got into the final third comfortably and began to look dangerous. The sending off changed all that, from then on they could'nt really threaten our goal, but they worked tirelessly and deserved the point. Quite how they are second bottom is a mystery, but confidence plays a part, winless since October it eats away inside the team, if they do go down, they'll be back as Champions next season if they can keep most of the players. However its our team we should be concerned with, and it has to be broken up in the summer and a change in policy. We've found two diamonds this season in Matt Fanimo and Luke Caulson, to add to the previous season Jamie Turley. We need to find another three or four young players like these, Tony Lee and Lewis Noice we already have. Lets go for young hungry players who will play with passion and pride for the badge, not just the pay packet. I was thinking if we ought to think of doing a Wayne Rooney with Jai Reason....make him our Captain, that red mist might lift with the responsibibly when he loses his temper out there. I'd like to see Bondz N'Gala paired with Jamie Turley in central defence if we can get him from Barnet. I fear we'll see Greener move on, that would be tragic, the right age, all that experience and a very good player to boot, I just wonder if he could be transformed into a holding midfielder with license to roam 'Franz Beckenbauer' style. We need two top notch strikers, the dream ticket would be John Akinde and Matt Tubbs, for me a definate 50+ partnership which would mean the title as well. For cover of Akinde in all seriousness I'd bring back Ben Wright, he's big, he's strong and I think he was'nt given a proper chance at this level with us, again he would pair well with Tubbs. We keep Yemi, Drury, Harding, Partington, Evans, Poke and Payne.....the rest can go thank you very much and all that, blah blah blah. I also mentioned a policy change, different style of playing which inevitably means the elephant in the room, the manager. Saying the job is too big for him is perhaps wrong, but his inexperience is. Our transfer policy in January was awful apart from Luke Caulson. He might say he only wants players as good if not better than he already has, but in some ways it is also showing loyalty to his former team mates, he is too close to them and a manager cannot be like that. I believe if he stays, then we'll see most of this team again next season, a team that has failed and would fail again next season too so it has to change at the top. It's harsh, but that's football, it's extremely rare these days for a manager to last 3 years or more in one job, in our league there are only 3 trophies to play for, The Title, the FA Trophy and The Play Off Final Trophy, (FA Cup of course but no non league side is going to win that) so unless you are successful, or in the process of building a successful side, you're out the door. Some of you might say is'nt that what CT is doing? My answer is no, the football we've played since the middle of January is not the way to building a successful side. We were awful yesterday and the manager has to take responsibility for that, he set the team up. On what we saw yesterday we are'nt going to make the PO and that hurts, injuries are no excuse, having a small squad is no excuse, we could've covered this area in January but failed. Let's not just keep looking to see who is made available on July 1st when League clubs issue their release lists and sign experienced football league players looking for a nice pay day to end their careers. Let's look at the top five teams in the National South and North in the last 6 weeks of the season (Including PO's) and see if those rare diamonds can be found, if so try and entice them to join the EFC journey, good young players who would bust a gut for this club, wear the badge with passion and pride for us, the fans, so we can cheer them on with our fantastic support, but most of all I want this club to be successful for the man who has made it all possible, who has allowed us to have this dream, he is our hero and he will take this club to the promised land, Stewart Donald....Top Man and always will be.
