Were you there boyathood? No? Didn't think so. They have the 'beech' as an advantage! How does 'beech' help, other than plant a couple in front of our goal ?

Ha Ha! We could do with some trees amongst the back four at the moment! The 'beach' is certainly an interesting surface for visiting teams at the moment. Excuse my poor spelling!

Very disappointing result today, didn't sound like we created very much, from the R Solent commentary. I make that 4 defeats from 4 games against teams managed by Danny Cowley. He appears to have done marvels at a club with modest means. We're now losing Jamie Turley for 1 or 2? games and it didn't sound very promising news about Andy Dury going off late on, either. Woking's recent form is on a par with ours so we really do need to turn in a better performance on Tuesday.

Thought we started the game ok, not much in it early on - although not really creating anything we looked ok at the back. Turley picked up a yellow early doors then had a last warning about 10 mins before half time... I'd have taken him off at half time and replaced by Evans because he really was one tackle away from a second yellow... 6/7mins into the second half he gets sent off and we're chasing the game even more. Bizarre why it wasn't done as Evans come on about 10 minutes later to play holding midfield!!
Again we didn't create anything going forward - Constable & Tubbs isn't working, five games for Tubbs, one shot (Against FGR)... We look flat and have no urgency... Will take something special to finish in the play offs now. Answers on a postcard, something is going wrong somewhere...

I think that about sums it up!! To me Tubbs doesn't look like he has the desire to score. He gets the ball and is looking for a pass rather than attacking the goal.
Next game we need to try something different. Enforced with Turley now out and possibly Drury too.
I think Coulson looked good in the second half and created a lot of space for himself down the right.

And drop Reason absolute dog s*** worst season for us just not been at the races!! He got the ability just seem to of left it behind somewhere!! Doesn't look fit enough either. Get Midson in behind the strikers, Payne needs to be starting imo Tubbs just needs a goal his confidence is probably lowest of the players we have after getting goals for fun in league 2 then seemingly getting dropped because he didn't fit the "system" He needs goals and the right players to feed him. Ronaldinho still a free agent??? Well if basingstoke could be linked time ago why not us

I know I haven't seen the last few games so really shouldn't have a comment but I think that Partington in front of the back 4 could work. He can play the ball as well as win it, a very good young footballer. What does anyone think ?

I agree with the other comments about Reason's form but still think he is a class act. I don't get the Tubbs signing at all at the moment though. I can see why he doesn't get in the Pompey side.

The supply Tubbs gets means he won't score in a month of Sunday's. In the last half dozen games we have not created much at all going forward. I agree Reason looks unfit, he did at the start of the season then picked his game up but is now looking distinctly jaded. We'll do well to get 9/9 which is the only slim chance of a PO spot. Drop 1 game from the next 3 and it's time to start thinking about personnel and possibly management for next season.

CT wasn't appointed as manager for the short term & would getting rid of him do anything, no the new boss would have to start again & in a years time we would still be saying its not his team its Todds team or its still Hills team, most supporters wanted CT to have the job & when we went unbeaten after his appointment he was a football genius! Ok we are on a poor run at the moment, but how many of us actually believe hes suddenly become a poor manager, he has done less than 6 months in his first managerial job, give the bloke a chance.
As for the players, some of them certainly need to have a look at what they are doing but singling them out on here won't help, they know themselves if they have played well or if they have given their all for the cause, but reading on here that they are unfit or dog s**t won't help their morale.

Criticising Jai is unfair as he seems to be the one pushed left, right and centre to fill holes. We don't play him in a position to suit his strengrh, so never gets a run at it.
Surprised people criticising Tubbs as looks neat and solid to me, but drops deep to help defend and get involved. Constable is the one of the two to drop for me and try something different, but who are you going to continue to play, someone on loan until the end of the season, or a permanent player who is already signed on for next year ?
We've lost our way badly, so it's either the squad that needs to change, or it's the manager. The straw that breaks the camels back cannot be far off, and unfortunately the buck always stops in the same place.
Todd now has a full squad so now is the time that defines his first job.

Here is an attempt to try and understand things!
1) RH had a good/very good season last season with his squad. An attempt was made to make the squad even stronger for this season. 2) The team started the new season quite well, but then hit a bad patch culminating in that 2-5 defeat to Dover. RH left at this point, CT in temporary charge. 3) After a bit of a 'hangover' and getting used to the new manager (including a dire 0-2 defeat at home to Braintree, the second half being the worst performance I've ever seen from an Eastleigh team - I missed the Thurrock game) CT turned it round, and had a good run in the league and in the FA Cup, and got a contract. 4) After the FA Cup glory games against Bolton, the team has hit another rough patch, longer than the one that RH had before he left. We tried to sign players before the transfer deadlines, but only got one major signing (who IMO looks pretty good), despite best efforts, and have now got some loan players in.
The pitch was damaged heavily because of the FA Cup game and the bad weather. The main effect it's had has been to force us to have a run of away games, some we would have struggled with anyway. The condition of the pitch will probably be poor for the rest of the season. But we know how to play on it, since we were able to beat the league leaders last Tue with a battling performance, so it could work in our favour.
The team has been very inconsistent this season! Did RH leave because he was unhappy with some of the players, or vice-versa, as some people suggested at the time? Is the current slump due to the players again, or the management, or both? are we experiencing an FA Cup hangover?
We all have our opinions about which players are/aren't performing well, and who should be in the team, we all have our opinions about the manager/his assistant. What We don't have is any clue as to how the players and manager interrelate, who dominates the dressing room, who doesn't get on with whom, etc. I would expect that to stay in the training ground and dressing room.
My view is that bringing in another manager won't get us to a play-off place in time, even assuming they could turn the situation round better than CT. He overcame one poor situation (when he first took over), he should be given a chance to overcome another one. He knows the players and club, which may be an advantage or a disadvantage. He has tried to stamp his own mark on the team, and has a different style to RH. It takes time for everyone to get used to that. We might well have lost at FGR and an in-form Braintree whatever. I think it is probably better to carry on and let him try and turn it round, and in a few weeks see where we are and review the situation re the manager, and players for next season. Meanwhile everyone needs to get behind the team. We have three very winnable home games coming up next!

I agree with the last sentence. We support them when we win, we support them when we lose.
