Yes, I've seen a couple of articles that say things like:
'England manager Paul Fairclough has selected a 16-man squad for the fixture, with a ‘one player per club’ rule.' 'Every National division side has a player selected for a cap.'
Not sure whether this is just for this match (maybe to avoid postponements/clubs being unduly disadvantaged*) or whether it's a general thing.

I was hoping he'd call up our entire defence and really do us a favor!

Updated England C squad today still has Macca there, also Stead from Barnet, who's done well for them this season. I notice that the England C squad with an additional 10 contingency players, making 26 players in total, has 1 player from each NL team and 1 from both Worthing and Chester City. Q. Is it a ruling that they can only take 1 player per team? I vaguely remember that the squad is made up of players under a certain age (maybe 23?) and they can have maybe 3 over aged players, of which Macca will be one of them. Does anyone know the full criteria for England C representation? I think but I'm not sure it was all under 23 last year but they've changed that to an open selection. www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/latest-news/england-c/481063/lions-ready-to-roar-again-2/Obviously I would rather Macca played for us tonight but I can see why he would take the opportunity to put on an England shirt.

Think it was the same criteria last year, Pitchero article said: 'Every National division side has a player selected for a cap'
Vinnie Harper was our representative, and did pretty well. I remember watching the match on BT Sport, it wasn't a great spectacle.
Agree Macca deserves a cap, just a shame we're playing Barnet on the same night. EDIT: Barnet forum spotted a clip of him on his Twitter/X in his England tracksuit on the way to their game. Hope we've got a big bus tonight to park at the Hive. Alternatively, 100% effort and concentration by all.

Just to cheer us up. Macca has gone and touched the ball 4 times in the first half.

Sounds like we ran then quite close.
I see Maguire, Reeves and Rutherford started. I'm sure that helped.
Still a game in hand and three points ahead of fourth bottom.
If you're interested, Wales beat England C 1-0, Macca played the full 90 minutes, I think.

Just reverted to lumping the ball back to them or straight out for their throw in. Second half stared to play with some confidence, was like watching the Oxford City game, and looked good for a point at least., had chances to actually take the game. Midfield looked tired but brought on legs in Reeves and Nwabuke in the second half which helped. When we have the ball on the deck and actually try and play some patterns of play we look like a fairly decent team!

Post above suggests that Ben Reeves was a second half substitute, while indications elsewhere indicate that he played the 3whole game.
