We’ve got to take into account the finish to last season as well. Something like 14 games without a win is dreadful. Admittedly I haven’t been to any away games so far this season but bar the second half v Barnet there’s been nothing to show us the performances are there or going to be there to turn it around. I think I previously mentioned the Wealdstone game was one of the worst I’ve seen. I was surprised he was kept on in the summer, it did feel like history repeating itself with Todd. Don’t mind Hill suring it up for a few games but hopefully he doesn’t get the taste for it and decide to take it on full time. Feel like that ship has sailed many times! Be interesting to see what happens tomorrow

That’s a good point about the end of last season. I think they came up short, ran out of steam and probably finished about where they should have, depends on how you view it. It does indeed have a sense of deja vu with Chris Todd and also Ian Baird. Both were allowed to recruit (badly) with a healthy budget, quickly lost their jobs and in both cases it took a while to get over the mistakes. Let’s hope that this time we make a well considered appointment who has the ability to mould this group into a more cohesive, energetic side whilst buying into and sharing a longer term strategy to get the club where it wants to be. I certainly don’t want us going back to the mistakes of the past by signing more senior ex football league players on big contracts for short term objectives.

Shame about all the in fighting on here, let’s all have a difference of opinion, that’s healthy but keep supporting, it’s time for a change so let’s hope it’s positive and we can get back on track and have a good exciting season. Everyone should come to the game today , the first with a fully opened refurbished stand and just take it in, lovely lil ground, a bumper crowd and chairman who is an Eastleigh fanatic and a new start. Tisdale or Adkins would be my choice, both with local connections , good man managers and two genuinely nice guys. Let’s see what happens. It can only be better. Chin up everyone. 3 points today.

I too hope Malcolm reconsiders his decision to stay on this forum and to continue, when time allows him, to visit the Silverlake. People are entitled to air their opinions and personally I take the view if I dish it out, then I take it back too. Some thought I was pretty harsh on LB after just one game this season, but I could see he was not changing his tactics and that meant his days were numbered, though it came quicker than even I imagined it would. There will always be fans who disagree but in the main we all care about the club and what they are trying to achieve, namely to get into The Football League. It would be an astonishing achievement from where Eastleigh FC was at the start of this century, and for all of us it is the impossible dream, but one just a mere step away from being done. Malcolm has been part of this incredible journey and I know for sure that SD would like him to share that moment, not if, but when, it arrives. As said by Callum, we are all part of the Eastleigh football family and SD endorses this as the very fabric of this club, we fall together, we stand together.....and Malcolm is one of us.

Here's a thing... Hilly comes in as caretaker for 5 games while the search/interview process goes on. We then win all 5 games. Does Hilly stay on as permanent manager? It wouldn't surprise me if he got a tune out of this bunch of players. I think he will earn more respect from these lads on the training ground than LB ever had.

Another request for Malcolm to stay on and continue coming to games. The man is an EFC legend. Im not sure reading back through this thread, who has upset him, maybe its more than something being said on this forum. He mentioned this is no longer a family friendly club, which surprised me, but then i haven't been around the place for a few years, so not sure if/how its changed. One thing i am certain of, is that SD will work his socks off to return the feeling around the club, to how it once was.

Lot to unpick here.
When Lee Bradbury was appointed I wasn’t particularly impressed as his only experience in the national league was getting relegated with H & W.
Bradbury managed just 12 points from his 14 games at the end of the 21/22 season and I thought making a change then would have been a good idea. Last season was a strange one, I didn’t think we had much chance of the playoffs until an amazing run looked to have us guaranteed, Then the wheels fell off in spectacular fashion.
With the increased budget and likely change in squad early summer looked the ideal time to make a change and give things time to gel. That looks a costly error now, although I guess that is already water under the bridge. As said above we made the same mistake with Baird & Todd. Hopefully we can get a couple of decent results before appointing the new manager.
I don’t think RH is the answer, his last 2 spells as manager haven’t really worked and I think his role as DOF/recruitment is valued.
And a plus one for “unknown quantity”, I hope you decide to continue your involvement with the club.

Any chance of LB going back to Havant and Waterlooville?
Although after today's result they may not need him.
