Does seem a bit of a strange one. Joe is going be #1 and so Tommy is only going to get playing time if Joe gets injured/suspended. Probably not the best situation for a 23 year old. Maybe won't even get a place on the bench as LB doesn't tend to name a sub keeper. I also read something a bit odd from LB about Vince Bartram. LB is quoted as saying "... I'm looking forward to seeing what he brings to the table". Maybe I'm miss reading that but I would have thought you'd know what someone can offer before hiring them?

Seems strange to sign a keeper coach (Bartram) who is too old to play and then sign a young keeper aswell? Let's face it, 2nd choice keepers rarely play or feature in first team games, so not sure why we didnt get a keeper coach, who was still able to play, like Flitney was. Then you have an extra place in your squad for an outfield player, who can play. Nail on the head, Flitney going has meant two signings. Ross will be a big miss about the place for sure, did alot of trades work at the club too alot unknown. Massive figure since he first walked through the door.

I presume the player coach is more for the academy/ EDS than the main team.

Word is that he has the best set of adjustable spanners this side of the Midlands

I can see what the club are doing with this.
No denying Ross Flitney was a great to have around the camp, but back up keeper I am not so sure, he had only played 2 games in the last 4 seasons. At 39 I don't think he would have been given many more games for us - even if McDonnell wasn't playing.
Vince Bartram was at Saints for 12 years doing a number of roles so every chance he will slot into our staff as more than just a GK coach. Was RF GK coach? I wasn't aware we had one. I guess if we did, he was the guy doing the job. Anyway for me a definite upgrade.
No idea on Tommy Scott, but he has only 23 so every chance his best years are a little into the future. I assume Vince Bartram knows of him from their time at Saints together - so he has quite possibly recommended him. Will he be pushing McDonnell for the jersey? Only time will tell on that one. I think I prefer the idea of a younger keeper pushing an established No.1 rather than an old hand filling in occasionally, certainly if thinking of any sort of longer term options.

Two more new ones:
We are delighted to announce the signing of defender, Lee Hodson, following his departure from Kilmarnock.
We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder, Solomon Nwabuokei, following his departure from Barrow.
The former is an experienced Northern Ireland international right-back, the latter a 27-year-old midfielder.

Can someone post a squad update with their names & positions? There's been lots of comings & goings over the past couple of weeks & the club site hasn't been updated at all.
I'm interested to see how we are shaping up in all positions.

To set the ball rolling, Wikipedia seems fairly up-to date:
GK: McDonnell, Scott DF: Camp, Martin, Langston, Panter, Rutherford, Bragg, Clampin, Hodson MF: Atangana, Carter, Tshaka, Seong-Woo, Taylor, Boldewijn, Nwabuokei FW: Simpson, McCallum
Any missing? Think we need a couple of forwards!

Three EDS players got contracts. You have midfielder Kaya Tshaka in your list but not defender Harley Stock or attacking midfielder Luca Chalwell. Hope this helps.
