Apart from maybe Notts County, this is arguably the club with the biggest history we've played. It shows the level we're at when we can play the like of Oldham and hope for a result.
They had a terrible start to life in the National League but since the turn of the year have got their act together, are well above the relegation zone now, and are dangerous opponents.
I'm not expecting many goals in this one ;-) but I think we might edge it. We need to, if we're to keep the hopes of the play-offs alive.

First time we have ever played an ex PL team in a league game I believe.
1-0, another clean sheet. Eastleigh doing what Eastleigh do

Pretty much as expected - Oldham looked a decent side and played some good stuff, but we defended well enough, had some good breaks without playing particularly well, and Danny Whitehall, otherwise quiet, came up with the goods again - great goal. Once we went one up we might have well gone home, we knew we were going to hold on comfortably, we've got that down to a fine art.
Defence was solid, Carter was lively on the left, able to play there because injuries and suspension saw a central midfield pairing of Atangana and Maghoma, which I thought worked very well. Debutant McDonagh worked hard but wasn't greatly effective, and Lloyd looked a bit lightweight against a solid defence.
For the record, Oldham's team contained John Rooney (brother of Wayne), Nathan Sheron (son of Mike, ex Man City) and Timmy Abraham (brother of Tammy).
Now in an unbelievable fifth place in the league!

I thought McDonagh made a few useful contributions, holding the ball up in the latter stages...looks like a strong lad, useful squad member, but we look at our best with the pace of Mitchell and Lloyd up front.
Overall, considering the squad available, an excellent performance.

Great goal. Fantastic build up and great finish. Just shows what we are capable when the shackles are removed and we are allowed to play instead of parking the bus and tru=ing to not concede.

Think we are way beyond trying to not concede. We are not conceding and because of that we are winning a lot of games and are 5th in the league. Have a look at the defence across this run we are on, it's not the same 4 every week as the squad is down to the bare bones, yet the team are working together and pulling out performances. Give a bit of credit where it is due. We are punching way above our weight because the manager is getting the best out of the squad he has even with the injuries and suspensions

Amazing work being done by a ridiculously small squad , I'd argue we take our Hants Cup squad up to Notts County on Tuesday and rest for Saturday, bigger game

There are some that would still give Bradbury zero credit even if we won the play offs with a bare 11 available in the final. There again he did once manage Havant and Waterlooville.
To be where we are, on our budget and with the major injury problems we have endured all season, is nothing short of bl__dy amazing. There again he did once manage Havant and Waterlooville.
They are not even our rivals anymore.

I couldn't care less about H&W but I wasn't happy with Bradbury earlier in the season, mainly things like running the clock down with 30 mins to go against 10 men at home. I wanted him out after Maidstone in the Trophy but I've been impressed by the recent run. I don't expect scintillating football every week but there should be some attacking intent, which there has been in some recent games. Not exactly a thriller v Oldham but considering the available squad it was a decent effort and I was buzzing post game.
