Great game and a great comeback. Woking will be gutted.
First 20 minutes saw both teams go at it but Woking scored two lovely goals. We battled back and Whitehall wasn't marked at a free-kick to get one back. Pretty even after the break, but we battled hard and started winning the 50-50s. Two penalties decided it -the first one I thought was OK as Whelan appeared to get to the ball just before a defender. The second I thought was a bit dodgy as Whitehall appeared to be pulling the defender before he got pulled down. Both penalties expertly dispatched by Tom Whelan. I stand to be corrected by the TV highlights.
It was good to see both sides attack so much, Woking looked a very decent side so a great result for us. Both sides were better coming forward then defending, Whitehall led the line well, Hill buzzed around and made things happen as usual. Whelan and Pritchard played well again in midfield and contribute to the attacks very well. From the back, Boyce distributed the ball well, but Low didn't, especially in the first half with aimless hoofing, which stopped after the break (I see there is a thread about Low elsewhere). Hare had a difficult afternoon against excellent opposition.
Entertaining stuff at the Silverlake this season! And a win that should boost confidence, even if we can still improve.
I see next Saturday's game v Boreham Wood is at 5.20pm to accommodate BT Sport's random selection of games.

I thought the first pen was 50-50 and the second was definite, a push from the Woking player, although appeared a daft thing to do as we were not in a particularly threatening position.
Certainly an entertaining game, not oftern we will win from being 2-0 down.
One other stat, how many penaltlies in a row have we scored now? 10? Quite an impressive record

A very good game overall and the players deserve great credit for turning it around in the way they did. Indeed, when was the last time we came from 0-2 down to win the game? And is it 10/10 pens? Someone will know.

Great game whatever the final score, but even better as it turned out. Hill, Pritchard and Whelen all look good when running at defenders. Some defensive frailties to iron out but there really seems some decent team potential there.
Great to see Martin Tyler still so involved at non league level despite his many years at the top as a commentator. He certainly had the ears of the Woking management pair whenever he moved from dugout to pitch side.

Hmmm..I'm not convinced we'd have won that, barring the 2 penalties cant say we had 3 goals in the side yesterday, plus a few of us looked bewildered by the 2nd penalty decision.

The 2nd penalty was a push on our player. The woking defender who pushed him, will not be watching the highlights, I'm sure

The ball hit the defender marking Whitehall on the back and looped up in the air near to the pair, as Whitehall moved towards the ball the defender blatantly wrapped his arms around Whitehall's arm to hold him back. A definite spot kick, a crazy action by the defender as they were both moving away from goal.

Both penalties definitely correct from where I was watching. I thought for the second the Woking defender had a large proportion of our forward's shirt in his hand and held his head in his hands as soon as the ref blew. He knew what he had done.
The referee was the best we've had for as long as I can remember and needed to be to deal with the constant intimidation and whinging from Woking players and the continual snarling and sniping from their management team.
I don't like Woking very much to be honest.

They don't like us much either ;-) I remember their comments when we were the new boys in the National League, backed by Stewart Donald.
I thought the ref was typical National League - some good decisions, some poor decisions, and somewhat inconsistent. I definitely have seen better refs in the Wessex and Hampshire Prem League. Some Woking fans blamed the ref in this match, but I didn't think that the mistakes particularly benefitted one side.
Highlights are now on You Tube (link on club Twitter) - I didn't see enough to make me change my mind about the penalties, but it reminded me of what a good game it was. Couldn't see why their goal from a corner at the start of the second half was disallowed, either.

One of the best things for me about Saturday was seeing and hearing Michael Ingram( Rendal's dad) His chat to the opposition goalkeeper is always very well versed. DefInitley the best keeper baiter in the history of Eastleigh FC

Not the usual 'you fat b******d' when he kicks the ball then, which is getting a bit tedious? They could come up with something better - I haven't seen a single visiting keeper this season with weight problems ;-)
