For those who don't do Facebook or Twitter, the news today is that Tyrone who made his debut for England last night, played a game (maybe more) for Eastleigh back in 2011. It was a friendly on a Wednesday afternoon, I think, in early July against the Falkland Islands who were off to the Island games which, I think, were on the IOW that summer. Anyway it was a pretty youthful Eastleigh squad, plus Danny Smith who coached the youngsters back then with some trialists including Tyrone Mings. Played at BTC ground in Swaythling, think it ended 6-0 in our favour, but the game was marred by a bad injury to a FI player. I was there but don't recall TM standing out. Thought some would be interested.

I remember it too. I was there taking pictures. Think I need to go through my archives and see what I have.

This was our only international! The injured player was their captain, who had been advised not to play but did. I believe the injury finished his career. I visited him in Southampton hospital the next day. I also had an exchange of emails with him after he returned to the Falklands.

I think that I am Paul Murray! Also glad to be at a home match recently.
