Great to see Barnes playing as more of a centre forward - took his goal well and made the 3rd - and Bearwish's cameo was amazing. Still too many failings. In particular, although Torquay's first goal was a good hit the guy had time to get a protractor out double check the angles and make a cup of tea before hitting it. Our defending round the box is poor as the midfield get sucked into the defence. It took a ridiculous decision by the ref not to award us a clear penalty to really get us playing. If we can play like we did in the last 20 minutes we'll be fine. Well done Spitfires. Oh and a fantastic noise from the young lads!

Echo all of that; feeling a bit jittery after letting in a 2nd goal almost staight after Dutchy scored our first. When is Reda back??

According to Ian Wilding at Radio Solent: it's up in the air on Johnson and Rendell for the weekend, although Barnett should return. Wynter out for a 'minimum' five weeks and may need surgery during that! You can't really miss Wynter and Reda and not be up against it. Stryjek was in top form last night with one brilliant first-half save, and an all-round great display.

WE GOT THE THIRD GOAL BECAUSE OUR MASSIVELY UNDER ACHIEVING FORWARD WAS REPLACED BY A GUTSY YOUNGSTER

Cracking win and what a moment for 19 year old Tom Bearwish. Think that's his first goal for us?
How many from Eastleigh made the trip?

It’ was about 60 Spitfires and the noise was from a lot more than the youngsters (ps I’m 69)although without them at all away games it would be like a library

The Torquay announcer said 45.... By the way I'm 63 and stayed over in a B & B f9r 2 nights with my 90 yr old mother. I have to say Tom's goal must surely earn him more game time! It was a GREAT moment, COYS!

Viking your are correct. Match Report on the Torquay United website states that the attendance was 2005 with 45 away fans.
