Apart from Ben Williamson who seemingly had an injury Spitfires put out their entire first team squad and totally outclassed Salisbury with an impressive and thoroughly professional display.
One feature of this game and that against Oxford was that the team pressed high up the field. Last season I felt that we were often guilty of backing off too much allowing the opposition to play out from the back or pick a pass in midfield but if we are going to use this high pressing game this seasons opponents are going to find that we are a very difficult side to play against.
On a night when everyone did well it is perhaps unfair to pick out individuals but I was particularly impressed by the trialist up front and especially Rob Atkinson at the back - he looks to be a cultured defender with a superb left foot - which he put to good use blasting in a brilliant long range goal.
Bring on Notts County!

Totally agree, perhaps it is the younger legs in the middle which will enable us to progress with the high line and pressing game this season?

TBF, Salisbury had injuries to a few key players, notably GK and two centre halves, I was told by a Salisbury supporter. Don't know how many potential regulars were playing for them last night or how many trialists they had, but they were no match for us.
