Thought would ask the question now the dust has settled on the season, does anyone know if the floodlights are going to be upgraded? I know it would of been a requirement had we gone up but to be honest in the depths of winter the ball can get lost in the darkness from goal kicks etc, shouldn’t be an expensive upgrade, extra set or extra two sets of bulbs on the existing pylons. Also any other news on sprucing up over the close season , pitch should be fantastic next season. Also am assuming same kit as last other than new third kit being introduced, I may add that should be the first change kit not a third as it’s really nice. Anyhow something for everyone to have a think and chat about.

From what I've heard in the past, I understand there would need to be liaison with the Airport about an upgrade of the floodlights and that's only going to happen when/if we attain L2 status or the NL demands a higher level of light (or whateverhatever the technical term is).

There will be a new home kit for certain as the kit supplier has changed.

I also think there is funding for half the cost of the work on the floodlights if it is done as part of being promoted, so no point in paying it all now. (A memory from a fan's forum).

An average lux of 250 is required for A grading (ie to be in the national league). This rises to 350 for the football league.
Our floodlights are over 250 but under 350 (probably nearer 250)

Ah yes of course I totally forgot it’s a new kit supplier, looking forward to seeing what they come up with. Take your points about the floodlights, didn’t realise there is a payment towards them if promotion.

Martin is right about the airport issue (June 5th). Due to our proximity to the airport we have to seek official permission (beyond the ordinary planning application) if we are upgrading the floodlights. Any increase to the height of the towers may be a particular concern for our neighbours.
