A tight nervy game...no confidence for the win...1600 as folk go to the beach/garden centre/pub/diy/whatever the wife orders them to do.

Not sure how many tickets were given away at the Arts and Crafts thingy - so I'll go with the usual nervy 2-1 win (we might stretch it to 3-1 this time) in front of 2000 - last game of the season, good chance of playoffs, Saints not at home..... a nice Easter Bank Holiday to sit in traffic jams instead? And I'll be keeping more than half an eye on Ebbsfleet v Dover.... if they miss, and we hit...
P.S. rumours are that Ebbsfleet are not doing well financially (players not being paid on time at least twice), and may even need to drop down a level or two - Havant (4th bottom) and Aldershot (3rd bottom) are watching the situation there, if you look at their fora.
Massive game at the top, too - Solihull Moors home to Leyton Orient. Salford waiting in the wings for any slip-up by the Os.

Massive well done to the players today, did all that was needed to secure a play off spot. Definitely have finished higher than expected and at least one extra game to play.

We did our bit today - played well first half, once we got our first goal it was comfortable. Yeates' second was superb. Second half we let them have more of the ball, but they were poor, so the game petered out.
It could have been different as Hollands only got yellow for an idiotic high tackle, surely he must have remembered what happened in the Barnet game in a similar situation? Hope Joey Jones is fit after limping off - he was again a big presence in midfield.
Well done to the players and to the management, past (Dover did the business for us today) and present. No expectations in the playoffs whatsoever, so hopefully we'll play without fear and do well. Our good home form seems to have returned, only problem is all games from now are away.

Well done Spitfires, on and off the pitch. A great game and a giant step toward the promised land. Play-offs in 2 out of 5 seasons at this level.

A much better performance from us today. We were solid, and sensible. MY scored the goal of the season, and in very warm conditions we controlled pretty much the whole game, without being spectacular. I thought Reda was our MOM again and we looked in control of things. I hope and expect we will play a very much second string at Boreham Wood, it doesn't matter if we lose that one, hopefully with a full week to prepare and recover we will give ourselves a chance of progressing. We are 3 victories away from the football league. If we can't believe that we can do it, then what has been the point of the last 7 months?

So, the season started with most of us predicting a season of struggle, assuming the players left from last season would have similar injury and form woes. We've seen those still with us from last season show exactly what they were brought to the club to do and three players brought in by AH last summer proving very valuable assets.
Following AH's departure, BS has continued and improved his good work, and with a small squad we have achieved something many thought most unlikely up to the last few weeks.
Who knows what will happen over the next two or three weeks. All I'd say is that we have a club which has overachieved compared to expectations and in which we can all be very proud. Thank you Eastleigh FC for a great season, no matter what happens from hereon.

I'd go for Danny Hollands as Motm. It's no coincidence that we have suddenly won a match with his return after losing so many games in his absence.
Strevs also takes great credit but, for this match and the season, I would also want to recognise the contribution from the whole coaching team including the assistant manager whose name seems to be absent from the club website and social media links. That's a shame as I feel his contribution to the club has been major in supporting the manager after Hessenthaller jumped ship.
The acid test of our prospects in the play offs might be our performance and result in the end of season Match against Boreham Wood.

Don't think the Borehamwood game is particularly crucial, John. Finishing 6th or 7th is largely out of our hands and does it matter who we play in the first game of the playoffs? If I was BS, I'd rest a few key players such as PM, RJ and JJ for that game. The game next Weds/Thurs is more important.

Agreed Martin from a final placing aspect but a good performance and result would set us up well. That final game is effectively an important part of our preparation for the play offs.
