You ever hear Todd shout on the touchline you ever hear strevens?? Isn't that why they got Jason Bristow in? :-)
If you look at the Ramblers forum you'll see the name Matt Lowton crop up when it comes to who was responsible for players' contracts.
I agree that at the moment we're in a bit of a 'Chris Todd' situation in that we've promoted from within, the manager isn't very experienced, so results are going to be inconsistent. Hess got the team playing consistently, hence that good run, but I think Strevs will find i harder to maintain that as the season progresses.
However: Stewart Donald had a choice with appointing from within, and he had lots of mioney to throw at the problem. I don't feel that the current board have so many options, given the fact that there's less money about. As I've said many times before, now's the time to sign and promote younger, promising players, which is what is happening. Jason Bristow knows a bit about how to do that, although not at this level. Next season the long contracts should all be done and this plan should be able to continue a bit faster. Fans will need to be patient. The lack of cup interest this season was a big disappointment.
The club will also have to recognise this and also work with the supporters - as I've said before, pricing will have to be done sensitively next year. A big price hike will see crowds plummet.

The fact that everyone has wildly differing opinions should shine light on the fact that nobody has any clue on what they are doing at this club. One might argue the same is true of the country then. But I don't think the logic of your argument stacks up. You'll see differing opinions at clubs throughout the land - does it mean no one knows anything in football? I took this as referring to the lack of communication from the club rather than ignorance on our part.... although it's possible he meant both!
Doesn't mean we can't speculate on it, though - just means we're guessing/assuming things a lot of the time.

I think you could blame at least half a dozen people for things that have happened over the last 2-3 years, from directors to managers to others behind the scenes. That's before you could list several individual players who have under performed. Its too easy to blame one person who was here for less than 3 months (Martin Allen) and suggest he was the main problem. It runs a lot deeper than that. but the past is the past. ben strevens deserves the rest of the season & hopefully we will look at things in the summer and make some steps forward. too often our summers have been a mess which has led on to managers going in the early part of the season
