Decent game, they were a good side. They were better at the start, boosted by a goal in the first minute (defensive blunder) but in the 20 minutes before half time we played some nice stuff and maybe should have scored more than the equaliser. They again had the better of things in the second half but we defended well and scored a classic goal on the break, Yeates setting up Miley for a lovely shot curling into the corner. He'd been brought on as sub just before so credit to the manager for that. Farewell to Max, who got a good round of applause, and hello to Jack McKnight, who looked useful in the few minutes he was on. Everyone worked very hard today. Good to see Callum Howe again playing for the visitors, I thought he had a good game, it was a good battle with Paul McCallum.
An unexpected but welcome victory to take into Christmas.

For me very much a game of two halves. Apart from the first 10 minutes, when yet again we started so slowly, I thought we ran Harrogate ragged, we had a perfectly good goal disallowed, Paul McCallum shot over an empty net from 7 yards and we created numerous other good openings; had we been 3 or 4-1 up at half time it would have been fully justified. First half I was totally underwhelmed by the visitors. Second half very different game, they had a lot more possession, they looked very solid and dangerous going forward. To be honest with 20 minutes to go they looked bankers to win it. However we were strong, compact and threw bodies in the way, and scored a superb breakaway goal and then faced down a barrage of high balls with guts and determination.
Over 94 minutes I thought we edged it, and having seen 3 of the likely top 4 in recent weeks, in my mind we are broadly as good as they are. Wasn't so impressed with Max today, his mind seemed on other things. If we are to make top 7: 1) We need a top goalkeeper. 2) We need to start from the first minute, not ten minutes in. 3) We need to take a greater percentage of our chances. 4) Reda needs to stay fit. 5) We need another 15 goal a season striker. I am still unconvinced BW is the man.

Who would have thought it back in September? Christmas Day in 9th place with 39 points, just 3 points outside the play-off places. After today's win over the 3rd place team, Eastleigh are 5th in the form table (last 6 results).
Not a bad crowd either for the last Saturday before Christmas - five crowds were higher, six lower.
The BIG question - who will play in goal on Boxing Day ? The return of Wayne Shaw perhaps.

The return of Wayne Shaw perhaps
What odds could I get on him eating a pie at some time in the 90 minutes?

There were rumours going round today that we've signed a goalkeeper from Reading.
I did see Wayne Shaw at the match today, though ;-)
1622 crowd figure looked a bit high - not many visiting fans, either.

i think we got a bit lucky today. Harrogate deserved a point and could easily have had all 3. no complaints from me thouhg

Agreed, that's where I watched it.

Can't agree with this at all. Over the 96 minutes we were absolutely the better team. As I said before could easily have been out of sight at half time, Harrogate came back well second half, but didn't create that much and our winner was a superb goal, so for me, no luck involved in this one, just hard work and ability.

Missed first home game of the season today for family reasons, & was absolutely OTM to see the result. It put the cherry on the cake of my day. Let's hope for similar on Wednesday.
