From Facebook:-
Eastleigh Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Jack McKnight from Basingstoke Town.
The 21-year-old has already scored more than 10 goals this season from midfield, and won Basingstoke’s Player of the Month award twice in successive months.
The club have beaten off interest from several National League clubs, as well as sides in the Football League.
McKnight will wear the number 7 shirt at The Silverlake and link up with former Basingstoke Town manager Jason Bristow, who joined as Assistant Manager last month
Ben Strevens said; “We are very pleased to get the deal for Jack over the line. He is an exciting addition, and exactly the type of player we need for both the short term and long term. He’ll offer us something different and will be another option for us in midfield.”
The signing is subject to National League and FA approval.
Bit of good news, I'd say, but probably (I've not checked) cup tied for the FA Trophy game.

Thought they may also chase the lad Sam Smart, who joined Basingstoke from Horndean, and recently trialled at Sunderland. Obviously JB would know just how good he is. Also noticed young Tommy Block at Bognor has been invited back for further trials at Hibs having scored for them recently in a 'behind closed doors' game. Must be worth keeping an eye on as well.

Definitely cup tied in the Trophy, played in BTFC's 4-1 win against Wimborne Town in October
