In the previous 4 NatLeague/ConfNat seasons, we have not lost to Aldershot, home or away. Let's get behind the team & new/temporary Management team to ensure it doesn't happen on Saturday. They've piked up their form in recent weeks & are 18th in the division, 11th in the form guide. It should be a good game.

Its non-league day on Saturday so why not pop along for some "grass roots" football at the Silverlake. Always makes me chuckle when that phrase is used in conjunction with Conference football. Anyway hopefully will add a few to the gate. Would be very suprised if don't break the 1,750 we got for AFC Fylde. I'll predict a 1-1

Shots have improved recently so hopefully another battling performance from us. Management and players maybe looking to impress.....
I'll go for 0-0 and close to 2000 as it's Non-League Day.

Beaten by the better team today who, I hate to say it, just seemed to want to win it more. They wrestled that game off us especially in midfield. I sincerely hope the board is not considering Ben Strevens for the manager's position. He's not ready for a management role.

Wrong again about the scoreline... we got off to a decent start, great goal by McCallum, but we started to lose our way after about half an hour.
As was said, once they started winning the ball in midfield, and once they started supporting Rendell up front, who was left isolated at first, they were the better team, and more street-wise. I've said a few times that we could do worse than try and get Gary Waddock as the manager here ;-)
Having said that, one unlucky goal (after we lost the ball in midfield) and one poor goal from our point of view lost us the game. Second half we really didn't look like bothering them all that much, just the odd moment, and they wound the clock down comfortably at the end.
Good crowd and good turnout by the Shots, who supported their team well as usual.

Thought the game was relatively comfortable at 1-0 first 30 mins. Few mad minutes when Aldershot could have scored more than twice. Didn’t really threaten second half, did the keeper have a shot to save? Disappointing overall
Hampton & Richmond a massive game next week for me for our season

Concur with all above. Aldershot deserved the win, but at times their supporters seemed more excited about winning than Macclesfield fans winning the title at our place last season. Next Saturday's game is a season and Managerial defining game for me. Win it & probably Strevs gets the gig, we get £££ and things look all rosy FTB. Lose? Doesn't bear thinking about.

Think it will be a good sign of our finances/ambition who gets appointed. As mentioned previously Strevs is the cheap option but he’s not proven at all so unlikely to push playoffs, although admittedly there are anomalies with unproven managers some times.
As for today’s game, didn’t think we got to grips with the wind today, should’ve pushed on in the second half and used it to our advantage but we didn’t really do anything. Joey Jones has a poor game at right wing back, could see his mistakes costing us but we kept getting let off. Then he lost it in midfield and we got punished for the first goal. Didn’t think gobern was great today either. Not sure about their second goal have to see it again but looked like max pulled off a wonder save. Thought he had a very good game. And don’t know what the ref was thinking blowing the full time whistle when we had the ball in their box, but what you’d expect from a ref at this level

One plus today: A decent crowd of 2,349 with 595 from Aldershot. So presumably non league day added a few onto the gate

but at times their supporters seemed more excited about winning than Macclesfield fans winning the title at our place last season It’s called passion, pride and relief! That was our first away win for quite a while and I believe the first time we’ve beaten you in a league fixture? Certainly in this division anyway! With such a great atmosphere throughout and our management and players celebrating with us at the end I almost had happy tears. Can be an emotional rollercoaster following the club you love but this afternoon I was so proud. Second half was backs to the wall stuff at times but I thought we defended well. Was disappointed with your style of play. Lots of high long balls just hoofed over the top but if it bring goals (like it did for you today) then fair enough. See you (well some!) at the EBB later in the season. Good luck until then!

Think it was the first win against us for over a decade.
Before 2014 I think we had only ever met Aldershot in the Hampshire Cup. They beat us 4-1 at the rec in the 2011/2012 season, but were thrown out the competition and we were reinstated. We went on to win the HSC that season beating Totton 2-0 in the final at St Marys.
