Still at the same ground, for this season, I think. The access road from Chestnut Avenue has been changed a bit by the building company, but that aside, I think all is the same. Pity our games are clashing tomorrow, because, I'm sure if we were away, up north, a lot of Spitfires would have gone. AFC Stoneham were featured on South Today, Thursday, I think and they had the (one of the many?) FA Cup there. Great bit of publicity for them for their game v Cirencester. Best of luck to them in their biggest ever game.

Went there recently - they've had a great start to the season and beat a team from two leagues above them (Westfield) in the last round. The entrance to the ground off Chestnut Avenue is the same old rutted track, but the surroundings are totally different - a building site. The driving range clubhouse has gone and the range itself is closed, overgrown and looking rather sad. However, Stoneham's ground is very much still there, with changing rooms at the entrance, tea bar and a nearly-built new wooden building before you get to the main stand. The other football pitches at the bottom and round the corner are still there too, not sure how long for. Nobody seemed to know how long they were staying - all I can say is that they're rapidly becoming surrounded by these building works. Definitely worth a visit - midweek games as well.

Don't know why it posted it twice :-) Fixed now
I did enjoy my visit, however, so I expect I will go back again soon.

Gosport were the only local winners as far as I could see. Salisbury, Sholing and Winchester all get replays.

I regularly attend Afc Stoneham, they are a very good side and play some nice football, I think the occasion got to the players a little. Well worth a visit!

AFC Stoneham will be at our current ground for another 12 months minimum. All Eastleigh fans are always very welcome and the team are currently playing very well. Yesterday was sadly a step too far on our great FA Cup journey and the boys frustratingly underperformed in our big game v Cirencester although we have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience . If any of you do get the chance to watch a game or two your support for your little grassroots club next door would be hugely appreciated . Up The Purps

Nearly 300. We had hoped for more but obviously Eastleigh being at home would have detracted from the gate . Stilll pleasing and 5 times more than normal
We only charge £6 with a programme and free parking so when Eastleigh are away please do pay us a visit . We play good football for our level and you will receive a very warm welcome

Just a quick update on our neighbours.....
Tonight (Thu 25), AFC Stoneham have an away match at Totton & Eling (just behind AFC Totton's ground).
A point will be enough for them to win the Wessex league Division 1, after long-time leaders Amesbury's surprise defeat on Saturday.
I was at Stoneham last night for another match, and heard that they hope to move to their new 3G/4G/5G/whatever it is G facility in Stoneham Lane in Sept/Oct (you can see it being built at the moment), and they will be using the existing ground until then.
I hope to go Totton tonight to cheer them on.

Nice one. It makes sense to build close relations with Stoneham. The Wessex league is a decent standard of football and we could help each other in lots of different ways.
