Well we’ve learnt two things today. 1. Taylov’s garden isn’t fit for national league football and 2.horseymchorseface and bassfisher are the same person, aka Willk. Jesus get a life. Barnseyefc don’t worry about it most people know you do your best. Both Winchester and Gosport were off today. Sholing did get their game on. Ground is generally sodden and our ground is quite low lying. Not surprised it was off - a difficult call as rain today was not quite as heavy as forecast. Appreciate the explanation from Barnsy. Guess AH went off to watch Gills beat the lesser blue team in Hampshire.

In the last 20 years (nearly) I've learnt that my back garden is a remarkably good guide to the likely conditions down at the Silverlake. Both suffer from a high water table.

Spitfire steve, sorry to burst your bubble here but no we’re not. If you actually read the posts I was responding to bassfishers comments about the pitch. So in your own words pal, get a life.

A great day considering we didn't play - Of the bottom 5, Barrow, Solihull, Torquay and Guiseley all lost and Chester play tomorrow. Of the teams around us only Gateshead (7-1 vs Maidenhead) and Halifax (3-1 v Woking) took all 3 points. Chester lost 2-0 to Wrexham at lunchtime, so the bottom 5 all lost.

Even money that 45 points would be enough to keep us up. On the flip side IMO 75 points would be virtually certain to make the playoffs.
So that just leaves the small matter of 10 wins on the spin :0)

Jill and I were at the ground today to buy our season tickets for next year. The development work for the new housing estate and access roads is moving ahead at a pace, but with it there seems to be a raised risk of flooding. The footpath along the upper end of Stoneham Lane, north of the Concorde Club, is flooded and the level of water in the Monk's Brook is higher than I have seen for 2 or 3 years.
Dan's comments above about last Saturday raised the issue of ground water levels. It seemed to my untrained eye today that the new development is not helping one jot in this regard.

The vast majority of new developments increase the risk of flooding. It would be sad, but no surprise, if this is the case here.

Sounds rather unfortunate. Ultimately that could effect the development. Flooding risk doesn't generally improve house prices and whilst the developer probably doesn't care about Eastleigh FC, they will care about the bottom line. Hopefully we are in constant dialogue with the council about how this development is affecting us and options available. Now is the time for Eastleigh FC to make its voice heard, not 5 years time when its all done & dusted.
