I contacted the club a few weeks ago to see whether they could arrange some form of fundraising/collection at the game but have had no response. It would only be a small gesture but i think it's what makes non league different.

Steve Just to let you know after a meeting with the club there will be a collection at the game on Saturday, members of the committee will be coming round with collection boxes, would you like to give a hand? It would be great if we had a large turn out. Let me know if you or anyone else would like to help. Thanks

he was involved in a potential takeover but they have a local businessman lined up to takeover instead
going to be a very tough game for sure. clubs in trouble like this can often have a seige mentality and stuff like this can make them stronger and more difficult to beat

Thanks In view of today's news on the withdrawal of the rescue bid for HUFC and the widespread expectation locally that the club will now fold, perhaps we should reconsider this decision. www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/15891645.HARTLEPOOL_UNITED__Deal_to_save_club_is_off/

Guess JS doesn't have the money to pay off a £200k debt and fund losses of £130k a week. That's fair enough.

It sounds like they have to find that money by Friday or go into administration or worse. I guess if the players were unpaid there is the potential for the game to be a doubt. This all reminds me of when the original Aldershot went bust. www.theshots.co.uk/20-march-1992/ The programme on Saturday may be one to collect.

Are they really losing 130k a eeek? That’s several million a year. Crazy

Jeff stelling doesn’t love his team that much then? I did wonder this myself, Will, as it does seem like an option he would potentially agree to. But seeing as he hasn't probably hints he knows it will solve the problems short term but not long term if they don't get any investment.

Football clubs and their fans find their level, just like any other business. Hard luck 'pool.
