Don't panic its not a RIP thread!
Today's Echo has a page by Wendy Gee about their departure from Winchester City. Paul states that at "almost 70", he wants to "try and scale down his areas of responsibility". He has already stood down as managing Director of Paul Murray PLC.
Dave Malone is quoted as saying " I'd like a complete rest from football after 18 years".

Both took the club as far as they could, from what I gather when Dossie left he didn't leave it in the greatest of places financially so Murray & Malone must be thanked for the work they did to keep us as an established Conference South side. Donald has and will take us to the next level financially.
I remember a midweek game at Chelmsford we were 3-0 down at half time, Murray came over and apologised to the supporters. As Michael says, Paul Murray is a lovely man and Dave Malone somewhat controversial at times!

I will always have the most utmost respect for Paul Murray, who is one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met who stepped up at Winchester City, as he did at the Silverstad, and steadied the ship and kept the club afloat. Molly on the other hand...... I will say though, i'm amazed he struck at one club for so long - nearly 5 years is a lifetime to Molly. I think he has infected virtually every non league team in the area - some unfortunate sides like Win City, twice!

Paul Murray is a really nice bloke, always stopped and had a word if he knew you around the ground. As remarked he once came round at half time when 3-0 in a midweek game at Chelmsford to apologise to supporters. I also remember him coming round and thanking supporters who travelled to watch a pre-season friendly at Worthing, a true gentlemen. Molly on the other hand was flamboyant and ruffled feathers, he knew money meant power and it showed in him. Complete opposite to every other director at Eastleigh, a cuckoo in the nest one might say!!!! However he did get the club to the next level and he is part of the history. I do hope Winchester City FC will be in good hands and build on the legacy Paul and Dave has left.

I may be wrong, but I think that Dave Malone has only ever been involved with non-league clubs and one of these virtually ended before it started.
At Eastleigh the pair established the club in the Conference South, reached the playoffs despite a budget cut, only just missed out on a playoff spot on a couple of occasions and I have already commented on the budget cut in their final season which I do not think was as disastrous as other people have viewed it
I get the impression that a lot of people at Winchester City are grateful for the fact that Paul Murray and Dave Malone have improved many things at the club since the days in which Paul McCarthy was the club owner.

They definitely have, and no disrespect to Paul, but the bar wasn't left very high by the previous regime. My cat could've improved things from the mess McCarthy left them in!
