The pitches used in the premiership and other leagues at that level are not 3G. The bigger clubs have hybrid pitches, which is a mixture of plastic based material interwoven and planted in the ground with real cuttable grass that actuaally grows through it. There are a lot in Russia but they arent the same as 3G

Sutton won't win the league because they are not the best team. My bet is they finish 6th.

"I would say they have as good a chance as any other club in the top 10 /half of the division."
wouldn't argue with that, which gives them a chance of around 1/5 or 1/6. By unlikely I just meant less than a 50% chance.
This saga will certainly run on

Surely they would have to have the pitch dug up before a certain date as if they don't comply then 8th gets aplay off place instead similar to poole town previously. Just feel that these plastic pitches are a complete joke. Remember first game off season gainst bromley where our players were struggling to make simple passes.

The conference currently allows 3G for all league and playoff games. It does seem highly likely that in the near future it will be allowed in League 1 and League 2.
There do appear to be some legitimate safety concerns however, which is something the FA and conference will need to take note of.

From Next season the National League may have 4 clubs with a 3g pitch if Harrogate Town get promotion

Talking to a Maidstone official Saturday, he said that all clubs with 3G have signed up to reinstating grass for 'whenever' they may get promoted.

Sutton certainly look odds in to grab a playoff spot and compete in them on their 3G surface. Think Bromley and Maidstone will miss out.

Blaming the pitch for our passing ineptitude at the start of the season is a bit harsh on 3G's!

The work our groundsmen have put in this season has certainly helped the team in recent weeks I feel. A good surface will help us.
