It's that time of year the rumours mount..
Now I have just read Ricky Miller is up for sale at Peterborough. Was never going to jump up 2 leagues IMO now we know he is a very good goal scorer at this level worth a shout?

No question that Ricky Miller did very well at Dover last season, prompting Posh to take a punt on him, however, if you look at his record prior to Dover, it's not brilliant. Chris Kinnear has a great knack of turning some average players into exceptional ones at this level, but that form doesn't always readily transfer to other clubs.
If Ricky Miller is surplus to requirements at Posh, is wanted by AH & wants to come to the Silverlake on loan so we can assess how he might fit into our set up, that's great. But I wouldn't be wanting to pay money for him.

were they both at Dover together?
could be a decent signing, sure there will be a few clubs after his services.

were they both at Dover together? Do you mean AH & RM? No. RM joined Dover on loan initially in 2014, AH left 2010/11. Can't see us going for him. We've been scoring okay, but leaking too many goals. If we are going to strengthen, it needs to be in defence & midfield primarily. IMHO.

RM is proven in this league I'm sure there is plenty of interest in him from many of teams in this division we need to be one of those teams!

we need a new goalkeeper and if Cresswell and Johnson cannot give us the rest of the season injury free they should be released and get in a new pair to stop us leaking goals

Unless they left of their own free will it would cost a fortune to release them, as we would have to pay up very expensive contracts. And we would have to pay far far more than we would be prepared to on wages for Miller if recent pronouncements are to be believed. I'd like to see us bring in a couple of young speedy guys currently shining in the league below us, or the one below that. For me that's the sustainable future of this club we should be building.

hey55, I don't know if you have been to recent matches but I thought Graham Stack has been excellent in goal. From his performances I would not be looking to replace him as a priority which is what I think you are implying we need to do. Of course we do need an understudy and I don't think we know anything about the long term prognosis for Mark Childs' fitness. Ross Flitney has come back to the club primarily as goalkeeping coach as I understand it. Childs' ability to get back to full form and fitness might therefore be the deciding factor in whether a goalkeeper needs to be recruited. Overall I think that we have yet to see how Andy Hessenthaller wants to play and where he needs to balance the squad. As for Will Evans I don't know why he would want to leave Aldershot for Eastleigh at the moment. If, hey55, you have seen him playing well though (on BT perhaps?) you might be able to argue the point for trying to get him. In any case. I would be a bit wary that, for all Shots elevated league position, their goals against tally is not amongst the best in the top quartile of the league and their recent form has dipped anyway with 5 points taken from their last four league matches.

If clubs payed attention to all these stories there be alot less players in game. Alot of players get them selfs on the wrong side of the law and continue to play.

Yes, but it meant he was unavailable for two weeks and it may be preying on his mind for the rest of the season, given that his case comes up at the end of April. He had another case a couple of years ago but was acquitted on that one.
Given that managers go on a lot about 'character' and picking players to fit into a team, it's also not a good sign, both for his current team and potential buyers.
Having said that, I'm sure there will be a host of clubs - including Dover - queuing for his signature, with his scoring record at this level.
Anyway, we have Ben Williamson (hopefully he's fit soon). McCallum and Zebroski have been doing OK together until they faced three large Torquay defenders on Tuesday.
IMO we need to look at full backs, and get a couple of midfielders (one ballwinner, one creative who scores goals) - we have potential in midfield but we're not strong enough there. AND KEEP CALLUM HOWE. We also need to be sure we have FIT cover for goalkeeper and central defence.
If you want to look at a striker/winger then I suggest looking at Abobaker Eisa of Wealdstone. He's getting rave reviews (league clubs after him); he's the brother of Mohammed Eisa, who signed for Cheltenham from Greenwich Borough last season and is doing well there (as I predicted) - perhaps we can get him as well :-)?
Also may be worth keeping an eye on midfielder Jordan Ngalo who's just signed for Weymouth from Wessex side Blackfield and Langley. I was impressed with him when I saw him earlier in the season and he scored a brilliant goal.

How about getting Will Evans back who should never have left in my opinion RH had a couple of bids for him rejected in the summer. Maybe we’ll move again now and then aldershot can replace through Jan. I understand he was keen on a move but Aldershot didn’t want to sell to us. His contract is up this summer so maybe he’ll refuse a new one and come back before August?

I'd like to see a fresh broom finally sweep out all the remnants of the Richard Hill era (Constable, Macallister, Flitney etc) and for the team to completely move on with a fresh outlook that belongs to Hessanthaler.
