presumably AFCB team will be fairly young team with some fringe squad players.
2nd time we have had a 7pm KO, wonder why?

Have they been to see the pitch? ;-)
U23 games usually star at 7pm, I assume because they have to get home early to bed? ;-)
I saw Bournemouth's U23s in the Hampshire Senior Cup last season and they looked quite decent. It's just that the U23 style of football is different to NL style....

Good to see another match organised. Could be a good test for us

It's just that the U23 style of football is different to NL style.... What, do you mean they try to play football on the ground & with less physicality? 😎😎

Yes :-)
So is that going to be useful practice for us?

Must be better than (with due respect to them) the likes of B&L, Alton, & AFC Stoneham.
Surely we could have arranged away games against the like of H&W, Bognor, Poole, Hungerford or Chippenham to give us sterner tests?

H&W have called their last two friendlies off because of injuries.
I agree though - we do need some sterner tests after already having lost three games against FL teams. Nat South teams would at least be a step (or three) up from the others. Not sure what sort of team Sheff U will send out either.
Mind you, Bournemouth did help us out at short notice. They already have a big game at Pompey on Saturday.

Does seem a little odd that in neither our original nor revised pre-season schedule we haven't got a single game against opposition from one of the national leagues.
Then again that must be deliberate - presumably the thinking is that a physical game against a havant or a bognor who would be "up for it" wouldn't really benefit us.
Hopefully the way it has panned out we will have eased into pre-season with a few easier games and then ramp things up a bit for the AFCB & Sheff utd games.
Course once we have played Bromley I think pre-season games are largely forgotten about.

No mention of the game in today's Echo.
