Hey Rendel, didn't you see my request at the top of this thread? As there is often news of ex-players moving, could we have the thread pinned where it is as I type this so it's always available for anyone to update? Please. No worries, stickied for the summer.
TBH I'm not a massive fan of sticky discussion topics unless they are v. important, I guess I subscribe to the theory that topics find their own level "naturally" by the number/frequency of posts on them. Anyway that's a minor point.
Hard to see Dan Wishart making that much of an impression at Reading. Of course Brett Williams had a spell there (now at Torquay IIRC).
I agree - I don't get why this thread is so important that it has to be pinned - especially the its not even about our team but about ex players! I'm interested in the whereabouts of our ex players but not enough to make it a highlight of the forum. Technically Shouldn't this be in off topic?

I see that Ebbsfleet manager Daryl McMahon has signed Bradley Bubb from Oxford City. When the pair were at Eastleigh Daryl's skilful midfield play set up a lot of Bradley's goals and I believe it was also the case at Farnborough.

Winchester City have tweeted that they have signed Lewis Noice following his release by us. Good luck there, Lewis.

Ben Wright scored two good goals for Gosport today v Aldershot.
Chris Flood showed moments of quality on the ball for Gosport and scored. Will Evans played 45 mins for Aldershot and looked his normal self, diagonal balls that were very good as played wingers, but also normal petulant giving away of free kicks around his own box.

Watched Ross Bottomley play right back for Winchester this evening and oh my god !
He ran around like a headless chicken at some stages and his positional skills were awful. It reminded me of kids Sunday league football with his manager giving him direction throughout.
Stuck out like a sore thumb. You'd think his positional sense would not be his main weakness.
Sam Wilson looked average also. Lewis Noice made a couple of good saves with his feet but didn't stick out massively. He needs to talk more.

That would be because he isn't a right back mate.

That would be because he isn't a right back mate. I know, but it was literally poor, so poor that it shouldnt make a difference of normal position, it was basics, a footballing brain, which i why i was surprised. Just my view, but it was simple things like not handing his man over and literally chasing them across the line in front of his CB's. He didnt seem to know when to go and when to jockey. It reminded me when you were coached as a kid and they would tie you altogether so that you know if one went one way, the others had to go with you as a unit. I get that put there for a reason to learn something, but id expect this sort of thing to have been learnt a long, long time ago, no matter the position.

Let's hope he has the sort of success with them as he had with us. Jon Parkin has now left them.

On the subject of Ross Bottomley I believe that he played in a variety of positions for Eastleigh with varying degrees of success, but full back was probably the position he looked most vulnerable.
I am not sure how much you can read into one pre-season friendly.

I am not sure how much you can read into one pre-season friendly. One pre season game or 10 mins down the park, you've either got an adaptable footballing brain or you haven't.

Went up and watched Thurrock v Dagenham & Redbridge tonight and who did I bump into watching, Suvs.
Had a chat and he played for Dagenham last night v Ware and has been training with them. Nothing on offer at present as seeing where goes but would love to see him on the pitch again at ours. Proper send off.
