Any ideas what is going on?!
It was widely reported in January that he signed for us until the end of this season. (He was released by Pompey in Jan)

Don't really care tbh, waste of wages. Youth goalkeeper on the bench would do.

I can see where you're coming from, but Ross only played 30 league games last season.
The bulk of his absences were due to an injury early on, but then he was suspended after a red card against Dover. Poke, then Noice, deputised. The only time Poke 'took over' from Ross was for three games in Feb. Was that based on form or injury?
Ross (if he's our no 1) may be luckier with injury/suspensions next season, but he missed 13-16 games last season. If he did the same this time, then having a youth keeper to deputise for that number of games would be risky. Getting someone in on loan at short notice is possible, but they need time to form an understanding with the defence (something I wonder if Poke managed to do properly).
If we're supposed to be 'going for it' next season then I'm not sure.

I like Poke. If he is happy to be a number two I'd have him. It won't do Noice any harm playing number three, to these two, plus he'll have lots of chances on loan to play elsewhere.

Lewis Notice has been released, Michael. I'm sure we'll get something from the club about Michael Poke/No 2 keeper idc.

Yes just seen that about Noice. Don't think he did a lot wrong. I thought Flitney was outstanding last season, he would certainly be my number 1. If Poke is two, then there's a space for a highly talented younger keeper to be number 3.

After reading nobadspitfire's post about the release of Lewis Notice. It has obviously escaped my notice that he was on our books in the first place.

I thought I was correct in saying that I had not noticed Lewis Notice playing for Eastleigh.

If Poke is two, then there's a space for a highly talented younger keeper to be number 3. Good luck to the lad. He deserves some more playing time so will perhaps join a lower league club and get the experience he needs. So is Poke staying or are we having a new number 2 (or even number 1) keeper? Ross had some exceptional games especially towards to end of the season and in my opinion deserves to keep his slot. Hopefully we'll find out a few more of Stewart's and Toddy's plans for the coming season soon. If there are lots of changes the team need all the training time they can get together ASAP! Is it really sad to be getting excited for the pre-season friendly's despite the fact the season has only just finished??!!

I thought Lewis Noice did reasonably well when he played for the first team last season, Towards the end of the season he played regularly in the Southern League South and West, and it will be interesting to see if he plays at a higher level next season.
When SunnySaturdays talks of a sarcasm barometer, I notice that earlier in this thread he refers to comments made by me as sarcastic, when I believed them to be irony.
