Pompey have also released Chad Field and Snorre Nilsen, who were on loan at Bognor this season and doing good things.
And Jason Prior has moved from Bognor to Havant and Waterlooville..... :-(

Jobi McAnuff is a good winger when he's on his game.

They must be paying him a fortune. Why else would he move there?

I think you might have identified the attraction.... although I'm sure he will argue that H+W have a better chance of promotion to Conf South next season.

Turley has not renewed his contact just signed for Newport County. Massive loss in my eyes.

I don't think Jason Prior will be earning loads at H&W, they have no money and are in he Southern league, so its hardly an eye catching move up the pyramid is it... He had his chance to join us a few years back & went to Newcastle United instead. Couldn't blame him for that, but broke his leg not long after, and after spells at others clubs ended back at Bognor. He wont play much above the Southern league level, conf south at best. Hes been unlucky, but was he really that good?....They say you need luck to make the bigtime, he didnt get the luck, thousands don't....and those thousands are never seen again at the upper echelons of non league football or above.

H+W are going into the Isthmian. Given the goals he scored last season, and indeed when fit throughout his career, he could easily have got a move into the Conference structure. I am sure he was on good money at Bognor, so why would he sign for H+W unless it was for the money? If I was his agent, I'd say crap move. I can see them struggling next year. There are some big teams paying serious money in that league.

Prior ended up moving to league 2 AFCW when we were interested in him. Shortly after he broke his leg and was out for about a year.
At 24/25 that put paid to his professional ambitions.
Would be on him for 20+ at the level he is at though, can't see him going above con south at this stage in his career.

I saw Bognor a few times last season and at times Prior led the line superbly, especially in the Trophy ties against higher opposition.
I'd guess he'd fit in well at Conf South level, not sure about our league - he might.
Perhaps he signed for H+W just before the last game of the season ;-)
H+W are a strange one - spent a lot last season, their manager believed he could take them out of the Conf South - he sure did! But they've stuck with him and I think they'll be one of the bigger spenders again this season. Whether they're promotion challengers I'm not sure.
Bognor have already lost Prior and Robson (to Dag and Red) and will I think be weaker next season. I don't think they are particularly rich. So maybe Prior does see a better chance at WLP.

On the subject of local Clubs and former players I see Salisbury have signed Justin Bennett. Crazy money they must be paying him, third top scorer in the south last year!

See i just dont get that. Not good enough for us, but good enough for a team in the league above us. A good agent?
