So here we are, last game of the season.
I guess it was always gonna be the way that our fete wasn't 100% settled before today even if it is about 98%.
At the start of play we are just 3 goals away from making that 5th place, and 2 of those goals could come from Eastleigh!
Anyway lets just hope its an enjoyable day out for us all & a good way to finish the season.

It's been another amazing season, what with the change of managers & then an incredible f. a cup run. I think tomorrow's support will be non stop singing & show Woking & everybody else what this club means.Lets all have brilliant day

Agree with Bazza, Irrespective of if we make the play offs or not, this has been another phenomenal history making season. I hope the fans show the team how much the club means to us all and the team respond by going out on a high.

It was an amazing cup run but it has been a disjointed season. The winless run after Christmas was not good and at times the football has not been a great spectacle. I have enjoyed the season, I will be back for more next year but I don't think it has been amazing. Lots of work to do to the team over the summer.

Assuming we fail to make the play offs, I think this has been a 6/10 season, enlivened by a fantastic cup run. It seems a little ungracious to say this, but with the expectation EFC now have, what would once have been amazing, fantastic, incredible etc etc just isn't now. I actually think this is a good thing. If we aspire to be a league club, and I think some even believe we could be a championship club one day, we need to get away from the little old Eastleigh tag, and start changing the narrative. We are not little, we have a ground which is becoming increasingly competitive, a wage bill which is certainly competitive, a home support, which is good for our level, so for us to be coming 6th/7th is pretty good, but no more than that. Time to lift our sights I believe.

I think that when we were promoted to the National League if you were told that we would be challenging for a playoff place in both of our first two seasons (achieving it at least once), reach the F A Cup third round, see the attendances more than double, and seen a lot of ground developments at the same time I think most people would have settled for that.

As Michael eludes to, i think "settling for" is a different mindset to "striving to achieve promotion" and we need to change the "oh well i'm happy as we are, being little old Eastleigh punching above our weight" mindset.. Settling means you just go along with the status quo, without really dreaming and pushing the club forward. Its my guess that SD would never settle for just "settling for" what we've got. The 5 yr plan to get us into the football league is now up. If we don't get there next season, we will have failed that plan. Yes we have a fantastic stadium, which is going to get ever better over the next couple of years, but if we are still playing at this level in 2 years time, i dont believe many would see that as an achievement, given the money that SD will have ploughed in. A high percentage of fans might "settle for it", but SD wont.

I'm going 9 out of 10 all things considered. This has been a year of transformation and a first step to even better things. It has been two steps forward and one step back some of the time but that's been a far better achievement than might have been realistically expected after our unfortunate early season.
I don't believe that means I'm "settling" for anything, but just measuring performance against reasonable expectations given the events of the season.
Like most supporters I would love to see us move on to League football next year. In a two-up division containing so many sizeable ex-league clubs that's never a given for any club but we have quite a few advantages including growth and momentum. I think how we finish today against Woking might have some bearing on what is to come. A win would be really good whatever the other results.

Have just renewed ST but am not bothering with today's game as I'm footballed out after a busy last week. Personally I'd give us a 6/10 season based on the back of the cup run. The team was assembled last summer with a look to gaining promotion or to at least match last season which we have not done. We've not deserved to make the PO's as our play over the season has been woefully inconsistent. Roll on a summer of change and hopefully a better tilt for promotion and actually looking like we might score and entertain which has been our achilles heel this season.
